I used to go here all the time when I was younger and at the time it was great. All I can say now is that the quality of food isn’t as great as before but still considered good to me. For the service there… its quite poor in my opinion, some of the servers are just behind the counter chatting away and its hard to grab their attention and the time I was there one waitress was just standing there talking and doing nothing. Also the speed they serve their food at, I would also consider slow compared to other restaurants. Other than the service I have no complaints, I would rate it more of a 3.5 than a 4. For the service its a 3⁄5 and for the food its a 4⁄5.

This place is a complete joke! The food is bad, the service is bad and the restaurant is dirty. My food tastes like it was instant noodles without the soup base. It was disgusting. Everything sits in oil. It is greasy and unappetizing. The hot pot next door is another story but that’s another review.

Always busy here. Food is good, furniture could use a little TLC. Some rips fixed with tape.

There was nothing really wrong with this place, the food was tasty and the service was fast and friendly. It just didn’t have that anything to make me want to give it a four or five star. Again the food was pretty good but not jaw dropping. I had the 3 piece combo with beef noodle soup(nice broth), marinated tofu(my Taiwanese wife commented that it was too salty) and an almond milk tea. I liked the tea but my wife commented that it was just powder and chemical, nothin special(she says that about anything that doesn’t get squeezed directly into the glass from the fruit itself). Would I go again? Yeah probably but I wouldn’t get the soup.

Had a take out today, I used to love their Shrimp fried rice, but today either the cook was not feeling well or forgot to put some salt, the fried rice was lacking taste, I thought I was eating plain rice(?). But still love their Deep fried Chicken nuggets! soft inside, crispy on the outside. Next time I should order the beef shank, I think that’s their specialty.

I was originally going to a phó joint after gym but I got sidetracked by this establishment. Walked in on a Thursday night and got seated quickly. This is my first time here and I heard this place is really good for beef noodle soup. Sure enough I ordered the Beef Shank and Tendon soup and Boneless Chicken Rice for her. the beef soup came right away and it was really good. Beef noodle soup came it a medium sized bowl. not to large not small neither. Me and my date decided to share it so we can both start eating because her Chicken Rice is taking so long. We both loved it. Finally 20 min. after the Beef Noodle arrived hers came. The Fresh Milk Tea was good as well as the Taro Slush. I have to say the Taro Slush here is very creamy and I find it way better than Bubble World’s or Chatime. Overall if you want to try beef noodle soup or Taiwanese specially foods, this place is a pretty safe place to do so. 4 stars because of the food delay. Not sure if it’s a common occurrence. The servers were nice and kind nonetheless. Also parking may be a bit of a challenge since the lots are always full. Expect a bit of a stroll through the nearby neighbourhood if you can’t find parking. Side Note: Their menu can be a bit overwhelming because it presents a lot of options so it’s really difficult for you to decide which one you want. Another menu design flaw was the items aren’t numbered so you better point accurately on your item.

You have to go here for their house beef shank and tendon noodle bowls. This one particular dish is one of the best in town with perfectly balanced broth and high quality beef(i.e. extremely tender and flavourful). Priced at approximately $ 9 that can be combo’d up for their nice BBT(cost extra). Their set rice dishes are made fresh and usually pretty good quality. Go for: the house beef noodle bowl, takes credit, debit, and cash, decent bbt Don’t go for: good service

Yeah, it’s a pretty solid 3 stars. It’s better if you know what to order. The beef noodle soup is good, and the braised pork belly rice. The salt pepper chicken is not bad. Milk teas are good. I’d probably avoid just about everything else.

I usually come here for their beef noodle soup but today will be my last time. We ordered the beef noodle soup and drink combo. The drink tasted delicious except we found a piece of plastic in it which could be a hazard to children if they swallowed it. We had let the manager know but all she offered was to make us a new drink so we denied her offer. The beef noodle soup took half an hour to come out. We had to ask the server about it and that is when she went to check on the order. The beef noodle soup did not taste as good as before. It tasted so bland. Overall, service is extremely slow. The food isn’t that great anymore. Won’t be returning!

My recommendation is their beef noodle soup and wide noodle! The beef is so extremely tender and delicious, the broth is always piping hot and full of flavour, and the extra $ 2.00 for chewy wide noodles is so worth it! I like how this place has bbt AND quality good food. Most often it’s a toss up of one or the other.

Tried the beef noodle soup here. Actaully not bad at all. Nice big chunks of beef, and thick noodles can be had for 50c more. Decent soup and toppings too. Bowl could’ve been a bit bigger, but otherwise it was great.

Unfortunately, Pearl House is always a little under average for me. I really want to like this place, but something always happens whether it’s service or food, they’re overall pretty inconsistent. The prices are also a little higher compared to other similar Taiwanese restaurants while their dishes range from meh to not bad. My last visit, I ordered the stew beef with broccoli on rice. The meat was tender, but the sauce felt like it had a little too much cornstarch. It looked better than it tasted. Cash only as well.

Smaller portions, less veggies. This used to be fine, decent and solid. Not any more. Prices have gone up a lot. They’ve taken things away and changed part of the entrée options like fried pork chop and rice. You used to get some great chinese vegetables now they give you cheap vegetables while commanding a premium price. They even run out of many menu items as well when we have come here many times. Parking here is atrocious. Street parking is best. They have parking in the back

I’ve eaten here a few times now and it’s one place that hasn’t disappointed! In the past I’ve tried their deep fried chicken nuggets noodle soup, mapo tofu, crispy pancake, deep fried squid tentacles, beef noodle soup, and spicy wontons. Nothing too crazy about the spicy wontons or crispy pancake, but everything else has been very very good! I really liked the squid tentacles when I had them and liked how they fry it with fresh basil. Many items I like to accompany with their hot sauce/paste! Don’t forget to ask for that on the side. Prices are very reasonable — about $ 8.25 for the chicken nugget noodle soup, $ 3.50 for crispy pancake, and around $ 4 – 6 for all small appies. They offer combos as well for selected items, but in my opinion it’s not worth it — it only prices out to be a little less but it’s good if you’re already planning on getting items from the list. It’s a Taiwanese resto so they have bubbletea here, but have only tried the food. Good bang for your buck for some good food that’s not so fancy. Service is pretty standard for an Asian restaurant — you call them when you need something and they don’t really check-in, but I’m fine with that. Will definitely be back for the food and their prices.

Not my favorite HK/Taiwan style boba café. Food was all mediocre, and bubble tea did not amaze me. Price is more on the decent size, and portions were generous as well. I would prefer going to «THEONE», or «BUBBLEWORLD» compared to pearl house. The only perks is, its cute, has ample of street parking, and seems to be less crowded(probably due to its less popularity).

Pearl House is the sister restuarant to Pearl Hot pot next door! They join the likes of Pearl Castle and Bubble World as a great place to have some bubble tea and Taiwanese munchies! Their food portions are all pretty large and decent value for the money! The beef in their beef noodle soup is super tender and really tasty! Way better than Lao Shan Dong Imo! But still not as good as the ones in Taiwan haha! We also tried their stew pork on rice, which was again, good, but better executed else were! Service was quick, no frills. We left happy and sastisfied. Is it the best taiwanese food? Far from it, but for what it is, it’s pretty solid!

Stopped by this restaurant as I was craving some deep fried chicken nuggets. We were seated right away. This restaurant is always very busy during the dinner rush, but we lucked out with a table available. Service is very very SLOW. They have not improved much since the last time I visited. The restaurant does not seem organized. Servers seemed to be running around all over the restaurant trying to serve customers as they go. We had a different person take the order, drop off food and give us our bill. Staff would speak Mandarin to us first when taking orders and dropping off food before switching to English. The mango slush was good. A touch on the sweeter side but still tasted good and was well blended to get that slush texture. They serve the drinks in plastic cups now instead of glass cups. Drinks do not get that plastic seal unless you ask staff to do so for take out purposes. Next came the deep fried chicken nuggets with rice. Nuggets were wonderfully fried and well seasoned. Crunchy, salty and peppery. How I like my nuggets! This dish came with 3 sides that were served cold. The lightly marinated egg was my favourite. The turnips and zucchini were average. By the time I was done eating the chicken nuggets, the beef sirloin noodle finally arrived. We had to flag the server to ask where the noodles were 30 mins after we received our slush. We paid extra for the thick noodles. I highly recommend to switch to the thick noodles. They are amazing with a bit of chewiness. Soup base was a bit spicy and greasy. It tasted good nonetheless although I would not drink that soup as my personal preference. Beef was good with a hint of tendon bits. While waiting for the noodles to arrive, we witness a server drop off a bubble tea to the wrong table. The customers were nice enough to tell the server it was not their order. The server picked up the bubble tea, checked at the bubble tea station and took that same bubble tea to the correct table. That customer witnessed all of that interaction as well and was not happy at all that her bubble tea was at another table. Server told her that the drink was only sitting at the other table and walked off. I think if she had sent it back for a new one, staff would have probably sent back the same drink regardless. I do not expect much customer service at certain restaurants and this is one of them. I question myself why I stopped by when my previous visit was mediocre customer service as well. The food prices have gone up a bit and my favourite sirloin and tendon noodle is no longer part of their combo section with the side dishes and drinks. Need to reevaluate whether the food, price and service is worth another visit. I probably will not come back soon unless I want to subject myself to some subpar service and wait times. Food is good if you do not mind the service.

Best beef noodles so far in south Burnaby and New West! Tender beef and flavourful broth. For $ 11.25, you get a bowl of beef noodles and two marinated eggs.
