Samsung Store

Came here seeking information on the new generation of Samsung devices. I was greeted kindly by a sales rep named Ivy who answered all of my questions very well. Definitely will be back to purchase the View. Much better service than I would/​have ever received at the Apple store. I highly recommend this store for any one who wants to make that switch from Apple to Android. Very informative staff who created a friendly atmosphere.

They will not sell me a Samsung Note 5 outright — they do have them in stock, but have reserved them for customers who sign a 2 year contract with Bell or Rogers.
The Samsung store is owned and operated by Glentel (Wireless Wave, T-​Booth, Costco Mobile) and are 50% owned by Bell and 50% owned by Rogers. Surprise, surprise.

I love sumsung but this store not a good example because the sales guys in there don’t give the proper info about the real deal you getting they try to lead you by lies to get the sales deal done I hope they get proper training soon enough before they close down from lots of complaints :(shame

My very first time getting a cellphone turned out to be the worst and priciest.
After investigating the options, I wanted to get a Samsung Note 4. The price tag says $ 299. The various time I went in to ask about buying a phone outright with no plan and how to unlock it etc… I thought it was clear enough that I was buying one outright.
That’s why I was going to a manufacturer’s store — to get something with no strings attached and at the best possible price.
To be fair, I didn’t read the fine print. Maybe it would have said something about the real cost of buying it outright.
Anyway, they ask me if I want physical protection for the phone. I ask for the «most protection» and they sell me an Otter. It comes with a screen protector.
While I was waiting for their slow Rogers connection to accept the serial number (???) they offer to put the screen protector on. Fine.
And they ask me to fill out a poorly designed survey. Fine.
In hindsight I should have figured out something was wrong when sales lady #1 WHISPERS to sales lady #2 to cover the terminal waiting for the online-​serial-​number-​processing to complete while she goes in the back to put the screen protector on.
Finally they come out with the phone with screen protector installed and they ring in the price. Basically everything together was about $ 1000.
ONE THOUSAND.
I go bug-​eyed.
The saleswoman says, «yeah, our phones are expensive».
Could you not tell a noob early on the cost of buying it outright?
Of course now I can’t back out of it because they’ve already put the screen protector on.

Also: I asked for an unlocked phone. I am at a manufacturer’s store. Should I not be getting the cheapest possible prices plus no contracts? Apparently all their phones are locked. Why?
So I have to get it unlocked. Fine. First salesperson says there’s a chance it won’t work with my sim card once unlocked. Great.
I go to Wireless Repair outside and the guy says he does «factory unlock» — no problem, no chance it will goof.
I go back to the store and speak with different salesperson. She confirms what Wireless Repair said.
Next time remind me to do more research and just buy an unlocked phone from Best Buy. Just looked up the price for the same item and it’s comparable with free shipping, AND and no third-​party unlocking fee of $ 45 + tax.

The staff here are really clueless and useless to me. Why do they hire these people? They surely do not represent Samsung well. They have no knowledge that i need anout Samsung and were clueless to my questions. They could not help me at all. You are better going to the Richmond Samsung Store they are way more helpful and they have techs there to fix issues you may have with your phone or tablets. Drive the extra kilometers and forget about this store in Metrotown.

When i walked in on a Saturday afternoon, there were three staff members standing in the front of the store, chatting among themselves. None of them seemed welcoming or eager to provide any help. So i helped myself and started looking for some wireless charging accessories for my Galaxy S5. Alas, I found the wireless charging pad, but not the specially-​designed back cover, which is essential for wireless charging. Finally a staff member walked-​by and I asked if they ever stocked the cover. He said no and I asked why, his response: «How would i know, I’m not the boss!» Wow, how’s that for an answer.
I still like Samsung smartphones somewhat; their ‘specialty’ store staff, not so much.

Never enjoyed samsung experience, staffs were unmotivated and only cares about sales revenue. Theres not a lot to see except for the overly bright screen. I received zero service so i would say staffs were horrible. Sorry Samsung, youve just lost a customer. Im going to be a sony fan now

While I think $ 50 for a cable charger is too much, the sales associate was OUTSTANDING. Product knowledge, engagement, ability to run through transaction, humour … all ace.
Had just come from Best Buy across the street where I was laughed at for asking for such an old piece of tech (1 year).
The Samsung shop is flashy and I won’t be regular shopper but at least if you have to go, the staff are great.

If you are looking for the latest Samsung tablets and accessories. This is the place to be. Their staff are knowledable, friendly and provide extraordinary customer service. They will really bend over backward to make sure you are 100 percent happy. If you are not happy, just bring back the products and you get your money back. It’s that simple.
On the other hand, if you are looking for warranty and service, this location really isn’t setup to do that. They are limited by their resources. There is no onsite technican that can do serious fixing. For that, you need to go to Richmond. The official Samsung walk in service centre. They didn’t call this store «Samsung Service Centre Metrotown.» Samsung Canada should really consider putting full time technican station at this location.
If you are looking for the latest Samsung phones, this place has the advantage of buying it outright. All the other place will claim a no contract price but when you pull out your money. They can’t sell it to you.
You can buy your samsung phones, tablets from any other store. You will be getting same thing. The advantage of buying here is their staff knowledge. They help you set up and trouble shoot and make the whole experience less headache.

I love Samsung products! I have a Samsung S4 and a Samsung TV and all my experience with the product has been awesome. The service I got at the store was horrendous! We had issues with a return and the manager came out. I have never had someone treat me so rudely at a retail store. I left feeling so mistreated and angry that I contacted the head office to report the manager.
To Samsung’s credit, I received a very nice response to my complaint and an apology; however, nothing can replace the poor experience I received while in store. I will never set foot in that store again.

My TV in my bedroom is old… like 90’s old and I came here while in the mall to consider buying something small enough to fit on my dresser and a bit more modern even though I’m reluctant to give up on my TV VHS combo (I still watch out of print music VHS). I know that I don’t look as though I’m made out of a lot of money, however, you will be surprised that those who don’t look it, actually can in fact afford a modest TV. The guy who was serving me acted as though I was a waste of his time. Based on the bad customer service I decided to keep my VCR/​TV combo from the 90’s…if it’s not broken why fix it.

I love Samsung products but the employees and service is definitely lacking. I was looking for a replacement battery for my Galaxy Note 1 and informed them that the Samsung site said to go into the store to buy one. The employee basically called me a liar so I showed them the page where it said «buy the battery at this store». After, the employee told me I should buy the new Note 2 since its better. I told him that I just need a new battery. He kept trying to sell me a new phone.
I just walked out. I know its rude to walk out but if he wasn’t going to listen to his customer and didn’t care about why I went in, he wouldn’t care if I walked out. If he showed some respect or courtesy, I would have least said ‘no thanks, I don’t need a new phone’.
I’ll update the rating the next time I visit, depending of how their service Is.

Had to pop into the store last month. (o5/​15, 3pm). Asked if I could speak to one of the young ladies privately, as I do not want everyone hearing my concerns in the store. We stepped aside to the back of the store. When she could not answer my question, she got the manager. The manager says «come here» and stands in the middle of the service counter, with people all around us and loudly starts talking to me like I am a child. «teaching» me how to use the phone that I have already had for 8 months. I had to ask him to keep his voice down. He was almost rude and I was somewhat embarrassed. I will be certain NOT to ask for his help again. This has DROPPED their STAR RATING.
And before I scream LIAR in regards to his answers to my questions, I am gonna say this:
When I downloaded my «SeekDroid» app (just in case my phone was ever lost or stolen), it also came with instructions on how to ‘hide” the app on the phone. I am gonna assume this feature is available for parents who wanna keep track of their kids via smartphone or perhaps bosses of their employees.
Anywho, when I went in, as described above, the manger belittled me and spoke as if there would NEVER be any spyware on my phone. HA!!! Thinking back to when I downloaded, there IS a way to put spyware on and you would not know. UNLESS you buy the $ 7.50 Spyware detector or you put the spyware on your own phone.
So kids or suspicious employees, buy the app, you may learn that someone is secretly tracking you. Sorry, not to make anyone paranoid, but the manager certainly lied to me in the store that day.
Too bad.
edit: sorry, i thought i wrote an update, i only realize now i wrote a second review. my apologies. And also, re-​reading this wants me to go back in there and call him a LIAR.

I was able to get hold of the Samsung store manager and address the growing concerns first hand. said that certain measures and trainings are undergoing to improve the quality of service. I’m hopeful that everything would pan out for the best.
I’m going to give the store a provisionary 1 star for now until I see the results in 2 months when I get back, if there are any improvements.

Went in today, totally ignored even after eye contact. Counted 7 staff members standing around not particularly interested in selling anything or helping anyone

I’m actually being quite gracious; if I didn’t have the Note gen1, i prob. rank this as a 1star. Their customer service better learn from the Apple ppl, who actually approach you with a smile.
Twice I’ve been here, & it’s almost like i’m forcing them to help me.
Location, it’s in a good part, but a fairly small store compared to any of the Apple’s, it’s a bit embarrassing considering that Samsung has more products ie. TVs, etc.

I like Samsung products a lot. I have an Mp3 player from 2008 that is smaller than an Ipod shuffle (except with a full display, retailed for around $ 65 at the time of purchase, and which I’ve put through an inhuman amount of abuse at gyms, on runs, I’ve even dropped it onto busy highways Several times while cycling. I’ve recently purchased the Galaxy S3 for my mobile phone and I love it. Basically, i like the products, so a store which sells all the various products I like will get a good review on that basis.
That said, this store looks and feels exactly like the Apple store. I had an Iphone, disliked Itunes and Ieverything and basically the whole Apple business model and culture, so I wasn’t fond of that. Minus one star.
Furthermore, the store is really busy (understandable since they have great products) and they don’t have the staff to accomodate aforementioned busy-​ness. Minus another star.
Presumably they’ll work out the logistics of staffing based on volume, and hopefully They’ll establish their own corporate branding identity, at which time I’ll give them a better review.

Finally the hype has died down. I can now enter the store without lining up and look like an idiot in the process. The store looks great, it doesn’t really remind me of an Apple store but more like a Bell store. I was looking for something in particular and was able to get help right away. The only reason why it didn’t get a 4 star rating is the sales guy giving me a demo when i didn’t want one. He also laughed at me for swiping the screens back and forth when all i wanted was to experience the smoothness of the device. I think it should be obligatory to ask if i know anything about the product before i get keynote speech so i don’t look like a douche when i walk away.
