Academic Advantage provides certified teachers as tutors to students in grades K — 12, including some university courses and ESL courses. We operate in the Metro Vancouver (Lower Mainland) area, Comox Valley, Cambell River and Victoria, B.C.

Academic Advantage was founded in 2002 and is now the largest tutoring agency in the Lower Mainland, Comox Valley and Campbell River. We are pleased to announce the grand opening of Academic Advantage in the Greater Victoria area, Saanich and Sooke as of December 1^st, 2009.

Academic Advantage was awarded «Overall Entrepreneur of the Year 2009» for the Visions of Excellence Award for the Douglas College Self Employment Program. In 2005 Academic Advantage won the home based business category for the same award. In 2007, 2008 and 2009 Academic Advantage was nominated for the RBC Canadian Woman Entrepreneur Award.

Meet the Business Owner

Susan C.

Business Owner

Susan brings a wide variety of experience and skills to her company. She holds a Bachelors degree in secondary education, a Masters degree in educational leadership and counselling, a TESOL certificate and several credits towards a marketing diploma.

She has 14 years teaching and administration experience in Canada, Japan and the United States, as well as 5 years experience marketing in international education. She has worked for several years as a one on one tutor.

She is devoted to helping students excel in their academic achievements. Her friendly, compassionate, reliable and efficient manner provides teachers and clients with care beyond their expectations.
