Absolutely terrible! I love Swiss chalet and have visited many restaurants of this franchise, however this one is terrible. The service is slow took me 20 minutes just to get water. The food took 45 minutes. To top it all off my chicken was raw. I do not recommend this place

Would personally never come back here again. For starters, it took about 10 minutes to be seated(even though the place wasn’t busy at all) and then the server took an extra 15 minutes to come by to take our order. She had made it obvious that she was lagging taking our order(considering how many times we tried to get her attention) When the food finally arrived it did not look appetizing at all. The fries looked old and burnt and my chicken«burger» looked extremely plain. I took few bites as the chicken was very dry and was hard to eat without loads of ketchup. There was no taste whatsoever. Needless to say I left hungry and won’t ever be returning.

I’ve been to this location many times. The food is usually really good, although lately they have changed the way they do their fries. They were a bit burned the last two times I went. The servers are always polite, the food always comes out pretty quick. They have take out, although I have yet to try that. I usually order the chicken on a Kaiser bun, always really delicious. The last time I went, I ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly, although it had no seasoning whatsoever. The atmosphere is nice, although a little dark in certain areas. Sometimes the parking lot is full, as it is located beside an Earl’s. Now that they hand out scene points,(1 for every $ 3.00 you spend), I look forward to getting closer to seeing more movies.

If not for the coupons I received in the mail, I would not have come here for a meal. I remember coming here back in the day, and looked forward to it. Now, it seems to have gone downhill a bit. The décor and furnishings are the same and getting grubby. The chair I sat on was all torn up! Sharing a parking lot with Earl’s, gives limited parking in their lot, so I had to park out on the road. As for the food, the chicken is alright, but portion sizes seem to have shrunk a bit. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer, and it’s nothing special. Seems to be have been poured out of a jar and heated up. The fries that came with our chicken where not fresh and crispy at all. If it weren’t for our coupon(2 meals for $ 19.99; dark meat or add $ 1.50 for white meat), I certainly do not feel the regular prices justify the meals. If they want to keep up, I think they should take a look at White Spot, with nicely renovated restaurants and inspiring menu items. The server we had was good though, very attentive and enthusiastic.

Honestly I can’t decide if I like this place. Not this location in particular, but the entire chain in general. Parking is available in the nice large strip mall lot. The inside is similar to other diner chains such as Denny’s and White Spot, except there’s also a take out counter in the waiting area. Staff are friendly. The place is clean. The food tastes decent, However, compared to the other chains listed, this place falls flat in the value department. The ¼ chicken dinner is literally a dinner roll(something straight out of a supermarket), scoop of mashed potato and gravy, and ¼ chicken. I guess it was It reminded me of one of those Michelle Obama school cafeteria lunch pictures floating around online. Half the plate was empty. A bit of a head scratcher. Thank goodness I had a $ 8 coupon, but even with this coupon, it wasn’t worth it. Definitely not paying the regular price of $ 11 for this. The 1⁄3 rack of ribs($ 15, down to $ 11 with a coupon) fared slightly better, as it included a scoop of coleslaw. This one I could justify paying $ 11, but not $ 15. Not sure how this chain is doing overall, but if they don’t up their game, I really think they’re going to die off. If it weren’t for the coupons in my mailbox, this chain wouldn’t even be on my radar. Maybe they should focus on just the takeout business instead.

I love Swiss chalet! Pros: Delicious roast chicken, best fries ever they’re so crunchy and taste fresh and I love their warm bun with butter drools** sauce is okay kinda growing on me. I like to mix it with ketchup. Cons: Service is a hit and miss at times, either they’re really good or they suck, chicken can be somewhat overly greasy at times. but that won’t stop me from coming. I’m a meat and potatoes kinda girl!

Typical american restaurant, free parking, service average, ribs and chicken okay… the signatured sauce? Not my type its kinda sour to me, i always use catsup and hot sauce… Not a bad place to eat,…been here fewtimes… and will come back again… accept catds and cash, group/family/kids friendly, neat decors…

We heard the 2 can dine for $ 14.99 on the radio. When we got to the restaurant, there was a stand-up banner outside advertising this. However, when we received the menu; there was no mention of this. Our server was very attentive. Yet she did not introduce herself. I ordered a hot tea which tasted like coffee. When I asked for more hot water, it was poured from a carafe & the water wasn’t hot. I am a light eater. However, I was barely full after eating the roll, ¼ chicken & baked potato. The pecan pie was good.

We love this place! Chicken is tasty, service is good, and prices are affordable! A go-to whenever we feel like having a meal that won’t disappoint!

No flowery b o gus paid review from me. It seems that most e lite reev youers here tend to always inflate the rating of an establishment. This place is getting really rundown. Are they affiliated with KFC because their chicken is getting really small. Prices are grossly inflated unless you have a coupon. This place used to have cops come in on their breaks. I haven’t seen them here in a long time. This used to be a great place to hang. Chicken is still very good and tender, but so tiny. They have some of the best ribs around. They just easily pull from the bone. I don’t recommend eating the gravy/sauce as it is from a powder. Fries are now frozen commercially bought, so I was told. Unfortunately, the above is their only strong points. Furniture is not only dated, but in need of repair. Seats are ripped. The place is stuck in the early 80s. They have gone downhill over the years and especially within the last year Staff is simply disorganized and all over the place when the place is busy. Our orders were given to another table, fortunately, they rejected it. The other waiter didn’t apologize and when we asked for a refill he never told our food server. I didn’t get my salad that I ordered until I mentioned it many minutes later when the food server came by to check on us(only once though). We didnt see her until then. We should’ve got the appy for free, like their employees get but no for the mistake. But we never did. We were rushed out once we got the bill. We paid by credit card and asked for more time. The food server waited an additional minute. Total time before she returned from the time the check was placed and we asked for more time, was about 90 seconds. We will never come to this Swiss Chalet again. It’s ridiculously bad. I hope management reads this review because they really dropped the ball at this SC location. Unless I hear there is a new owner or new management we won’t be coming here again.

The chicken was alright, the ribs had a lot of gristle but were tender. The gravy did not taste like gravy at all, it was over powered by some spice. The service was OK but the radio they were playing was obnoxious.

Food: Swiss Chalet highly touts its chicken dishes, so I had a hickory chicken flatbread sandwich with a Shirley Temple(cherry soda) and cheese perogies to start. The perogies had a chewy exterior with a warm cheese-and-potato filling which went very well with the accompanying sour cream. For the hickory chicken flatbread sandwich, I felt the chicken was quite dry and the hickory sauce was an attempt to smother the dryness out. Not sure what happened, but I can say the corn was more enjoyable than the sandwich. Eating the sandwich felt like biting off a piece of a bran bar. For a place that regularly advertises its roasted chicken, I expect the chicken to be juicier. The Shirley Temple was fine for what it was. You get bottomless refills on sodas at Swiss Chalet so never worry about running out. Features: This is a giant restaurant by the busy Lougheed Highway. Seating over 100 and with space to hold a takeout counter, you probably won’t have to reserve a spot unless it’s Thanksgiving weekend. Washrooms are fine for such a giant restaurant, but nothing to get excited about. Service: Like many Western restaurants, you get asked how your meal is after everyone is served and I’m glad that they don’t pounce on you too quickly. It wasn’t too hard to flag down our waitress and she was very courteous to my family and I. One-liner: A roasted chicken restaurant that didn’t serve very good chicken Highlight: Cheese perogies Recommended for: Families who don’t want to make a dinner reservation Would I go back? No(unless the parents insist).

Meh. I’ve had better. Service kinda sucked. It was dead when I walked in and waited 10 minutes to be seated because the server was nowhere to be found. Luckily they attended to me before I stepped out the door. Food was decent. I’d come back if I was around the area, but would never go out of my way to come here.

I met a friend and business colleague for lunch at Swiss Chalet. I can’t believed we talked for 4.5 hours here! Needless to say that was one long long long lunch! I ordered what I usually order the double leg dinner. I enjoy eating at the Swiss Chalet! To me it’s a wholesome family restaurant! I like their gravy… It has a slight cinnamon taste to it. Service is awesome. Super efficient! The décor is comfy but not overly fancy! We sat there for 4.5 hours and didn’t notice that the time had flew by! If you’ve never been to Swiss Chalet I suggest you try it! You won’t be disappointed!

The Festive meal comes with Lindor truffles. They had me at «Lindor». It was my first visit to Swiss Chalet, so I was quite thrilled to be there. We ordered the Festive meal, which comes with ¼ chicken, a side of your choice, cranberry sauce, stuffing, bun and Lindor truffles. All for $ 12.69. Again, they had me at «Lindor». The meal was pleasant, although what is up with the Swiss Chalet sauce??? Gag-worthy. I was told that it was a love-hate thing, but I can’t imagine anyone loving this stuff. The ¼ chicken was smaller than I expected. Stuffing was OK. I had french fries, and those were hot and crispy! I don’t usually enjoy bread, but the multigrain bun was so good — hot and fresh! It was definitely a wholesome hot meal. Finally, the truffles. I love a little sweet at the end of a meal, I won’t lie. It’s so enticing when they throw in something as wonderful as Lindor truffles. Will I come back? Absolutely.

My first ever visit to a Swiss Chalet eatery. My day had been long and … needing some comfort food, I slid into comfort food central. My first impression; the serving staff is so young. My second impression; the customers are so old. Ordered up the«Double Leg» with a side of fresh steamed veg. Okay. I’m in. Broccoli, cauliflower and shredded carrot — so amazingly crunchy and hot and so-o-o delicious. The chicken legs were good, not greasy; hot and tender. Loved the little finger bowl to clean my paws after gnawing on the legs. The place filled up with happy families and lots of regular folk. This location is obviously very popular. The serving staff were all pleasant and charming. Lots of free parking in the lot and on the side street. Clean, friendly, calm atmosphere.

Well my last visit rekindled the notion of great service. The waitress was awesome. Almost stole the show from the ribs, even though it was a pretty nice rack. Well tipped enough said. Now I wont say these are the best ribs ever, come on now. But the ribs and chicken here are prepared and served in a time tested way that can not be matched. It is a bit weird, I dont like the Chalet sauce. My friend cant get enough. Is the red sauce just some kind of apple cinnamon and chicken juice gravy? He is from Ontario and the way he talks about the sauce is almost fetish like. I dont think enough can be said about their fries. They are really really good. Fresh cut style that seems to be all the rage lately. Yes I’ll have a multigrain roll. Dont forget that they have desserts and liquor. Drinks are reasonably priced. I would say you should have a double Vodka ‘n Diet light splash from a lime. (They serve Diet Pepsi). Dont forget to grab a tooth pick on the way out. «I’m doing this cus I had ribs for lunch.» Say it as you leave.

I have a soft spot for this location and for Swiss chalet in general. I love Chicken. It’s not mind blowing chicken, however, it’s better than KFC and a reasonable atmosphere if you want to spend a lazy guilty pleasure Sunday rainy afternoon. The prices are really reasonable for the portions.

I’ve been here a few times. It’s one of those places where you expect a lot from it. It’s like Red Robin or White spot. Price is relatively cheap for what you get I guess. But the service has gone down since the first time I’ve been there. It’s never full anymore. Before when I go there’s usually a wait of about 10 – 15 mins. Chicken is what they are famous for but I have to say it’s not the best one around. I don’t really like their signature sauce either. It taste werid. Fries are alright I guess. But soup is good and ribs are good. Something that would keep me from coming back each time. They do have this coupon and free fries going around town. Keep an eye out on the truck. the coupon gives you from 15% to 100% off. So possibly a free meal.
