Able Appliance Service

My review is for our service call on the same day as the other review (E.D). My husband actually thought I had written it, we had the exact same experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone. $ 95 for a 5 minute service call.
No attempt at all to diagnose the problem, other than pushing the spin cycle button on the washing machine. He asked how old the appliances were, and said we were lucky they were still running at all (washing machine quits during final rinse cycle, and dryer squeaks loud enough to hear through the entire house). Cheaper to buy new ones than have him try to figure out what the problem was.
He obviously didn’t want to do any manual work that day, as he had a list of «service calls» to attend to, and charge $ 95 bucks for. He recommended I unplug the washing machine for an hour to see if that helped. That was the extent of his service call, other than writing out his $ 95 service charge invoice, and making a big deal about his $ 95 NSF charge if my cheque bounced.

I’ve had Mebs form Able Appliance repair in twice to fix a dishwasher and dryer. Both times he came the same day, diagnosed and fixed the problem very quickly. He told me up front what the service charge would be before starting and I was very pleasantly surprised that he didn’t charge an arm and a leg. I will certainly be using him again and recommending him to friends.

I called this place. First, the guy on the phone didn’t even answer it with the company name. I have a dishwasher that needs a part replaced. I have the part, can see where the part goes in the dishwasher, but for some reason, cannot get the old part out. It would take 5 minutes to replace. So I asked about service call/​hourly rates. They charge $ 95 to come out then $ 45/​hour. I explained my situation and thought since I’m in the neighborhood and it’s a real easy fix, perhaps he could give me a break. But no. That’s what I charge. Thanks dickhead!

Great service and quick response. We called in the morning and the refrigerator was repaired just after lunch. Excellent.
