I came to Ace originally because of it’s location. Had several pairs of women’s and men’s boots to maintain — re-heeling, adding grips to the soles, etc. Very happy with the work and the exceptional repairs. Came back with some alternations on leather and fur jackets. I’d say the pricing is inexpensive and very fair. Usually takes a few days — a week to get it done. Very happy!

It took me a long time to get into ankle boots, and I finally bought my first pair about two years ago. I’m now converted. The same faithful pair of(cheap!) boots has taken me all across the world in the last year, and are finally starting to approach the end of their life. Most alarmingly the ‘leather’ was coming away from the sole and needed to be reattached. Urgently. I walked down to Ace one day after work(they’re open until 7pm on weekdays!) and after some misunderstanding with the man behind the counter(because of a language barrier), I managed to get them glued back in ten minutes for $ 8 rather than coming back the next day. The boots live on(for now)! I also needed to get my favourite pair of jeans fixed. I was able to get part of the jeans re-seamed where they were coming undone for $ 4, and the clip to do them up fixed for $ 12(where he had to pick the seam apart and reinforce the stitching), which was ready within 24 hours. There’s no prices anywhere in the store so I feel like the cost for may vary on occasion but this was money well spent for some of my favourite clothes! I really should go shopping…

They replaced the heels on my boots over the weekend! Excellent work too.

I brought two pairs of shoes to get resoled on a Friday and had them back, looking real good, on Monday. I’m sure there are cheaper shoe repair places in town but the location and speediness were deal makers for me.

I have taken leather horse riding equipment here on several occasions and they do a great job for really reasonable rates. The stitching is done very neatly and the service is super friendly. Thumbs up!

This is right on the lower end of 17th and so incredibly convenient if you need to get a key cut, nothing in particular to say about the aesthetics but the services here are not necessary of a cool interior. You get keys cut at $ 2.50, shoe repair, alterations, and leather repair. Cheap prices good service, and a very kind owner. What else do you need.
