Our tasting room is host to several wine and spirits events. It is also available to book for private functions, staff parties, bridal showers and client appreciation nights, with seating for 25, full multimedia entertainment centre and catering

History

Established in 1992.

Britannia Wine Merchants began when original owner Daryel Gough had an idea for a neighborhood wine shop. The idea grew into one of the first privately owned wine boutiques in Calgary. Steve Goldsworthy joined the team in 1995. Since then, Daryel and Steve have built BWM into the destination shopping experience it is today. They continue to traverse the globe, seeking out wines that respond to their customers’ needs and add to their vibrant wine selection. In the spring of 2012, they added a tasting room to the space to host wine makers from around the world. Here;s to the next 20 years. Cheers!

Steve Goldsworthy brings his creative talents honed in the film business and free-​lance writing world to the success of Britannia Wine Merchants. Steve approaches every wine experience with an open mind. He has a passion for wine and the regions it is grown in. He loves nothing more than to make a customers day with a recommendation for a special occasion. He also loves Star Wars. Swing by the shop and talk wine, movie trivia or children’s books. No question is a dumb one. He asks them all the time.
