Specialties

At Crave we believe the best baking is made fresh from scratch. We bake all of our cupcakes daily, in small batches, using the same family recipes we grew up with. We feature local, seasonal ingredients wherever we and take pride in the quality ingredients we use. We specialize in cupcakes, birthday and special occasion cakes, cookies, pies and wedding desserts.

History

Established in 2004.

Crave Cupcakes was cofounded by sisters Carolyne McIntyre Jackson and Jodi Willoughby in Calgary Alberta. Many of the recipes we bake today are original family recipes Carolyne and Jodi grew up baking on their family farm in High River. Today all of our bakeries remain family owned and operated and we proudly continue to bake using the same from scratch baking methods we started with.

Meet the Business Owner

Carolyne J. and Jodi W.

Business Owner

Inspired by fresh ingredients and family recipes, we learned the art of baking on our family farm in High River, Alberta alongside our mother and grandmothers. Growing up in a busy kitchen inspired an appetite for simple, sweet indulgences made from scratch that lead to the creation of Crave Cupcakes.

We opened the first Crave Bakery in 2004 with the desire to bring our love for all things homemade to the city of Calgary. Using our Grandmother’s chocolate cake and our mom’s vanilla cake recipes we went to work serving the best cupcakes we knew how to bake.

Today, in each of our bakeries, our bakers love to bake. Each morning we start early, baking fresh cupcakes, cookies, cakes and other simple sweet indulgences from scratch. We use only real butter, we crack every egg and we bake fresh every day. No cutting corners, no day-olds and no frozen inventory — just good old-fashioned fresh baking. Just like we did on the farm, just like we did when we first opened our doors.
