A surprisingly large selection of board games and other family fair such as puzzles. You’ll find many common games plus a great array of euro games and strategy games. All this at a better than usual price with a helpful and attentive staff that is always willing to help answer any questions or offer suggestion.

Why am I here today? Because I need a new Rubik’s Cube. Like a BOSS.
For how little I’m usually into board games, I sure seem to visit this store a lot! The colourful stacks of gizmos, do-​dads, puzzle and games beckon my inner child to come out and play!
Games People Play is one of those beauty little mall gems that you’ll only find in the malls that are in Mall-​rat terms «like, so not like as popular. Chaaa…»
Stacks of games for days and enough to make you dizzy are packed into this unassuming stall in North Hill mall. It’s a fun upside if you want to browse, but it could be daunting if you’re looking for something specific. Have no fear! Here’s where the staff come in — They’re quiet, inviting and happy to let you browse along your merry little way. But if you need help finding something, they know their games like Games People Play staff know their games!!! Since you probably haven’t been here, the full seriousness of the similes is probably lost, but… they know their games (like, totally) a lot.

So anyone who has kids in hockey will know what I’m talking about when I say the word KENDAMA…
These hand eye coordination toys are what we North Americans could relate to when we had the paddle ball craze in the 80’s. This Japanese toy is basically a series of cups, and tip that you have to get the ball on. Its supposed to help with wrist movement, and hand eye coordination whilst puck-​handling, shooting and focus. I’m totally skeptical of this but gave in to my son’s constant nagging and whining and managed to track one down.
First off, I have to say that it was HARD to track down people who sell these things, I even resorted to ebay but with ebay you never really know what you are getting. I bit the bullet and decided to telephone shop for the elusive KENDAMA.
After several failed attempts at locating one through the usual suspects, ie Toys are Us, I called more specialty stores, ie, Discovery Hut and Games people play. Yay success, however, discovery huts prices were about 25% higher than this place.
Going for a two for one, went and got my hair did at Angles, and made a stop in the mall to get this thing. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was super nice and when I went to pick it up, had it ready to go! I love great service! Looking around the store, they have a bunch of cool toys that you wouldn’t find in your typical toy store, lots of specialty items and the prices were fair.

The selection of games is impressive and you could spend a lot of time browsing. My only beef is that most of the games on the wall units are faced sideways so you have to tilt your head to read the boxes. It’s a little brutal and takes away from the fun of looking. I found myself spending more time checking out games in the middle of the store. There were a lot I’ve never seen before and a few would be really great for parties because they are simple and don’t require a board.
The staff person didn’t address me at all and mostly hung out in the store entrance, watching the mall folk. It seemed a little weird. You certainly won’t encounter a pushy salesman here.

Fan-​Flippin-​Tastic.
The only word that comes to mind when describing this store.
Games People Play is, like I said, a fan-​flippin-​tastic store that carries not only every game you played growing up, but every game you’ve imagined, desired and craved.
For instance, they carry a selection of Monopoly games that I hadn’t even dreamt of. I’m talkin’ ‘Chocolate-​Opoly’, ‘Brew-​Opoly’ and ‘Dino-​Opoly’. Where else are you going to find a million different kinds of one of your favourite childhood games? Plus do you remember the glow-​in-​the-​dark stars and planets we used to post on our ceilings growing up? Well, this place has got those, along with puzzles, card games, board games and cribbage galore.
The staff is ouber helpful and it’s hard not to spend hours on end here reliving your childhood.
I absolutely love this store. The next time I’m hosting a party, ALL the entertainment will be courtesy of this gem of a store.

This place is jammed with board games! I was curious what they carried. There is a great selection of puzzles, of varying difficulties, some where beautiful! They carry a lot of the usual games, risk, cranium, pictionary. I found a scrabble hockey edition that I had to get for my Hubby, it was $ 40. I found their prices were better than other game and toy stores I have been too. They had some great chess sets. There was a selection of tops and yo-​yos, flash cards, marble runs and even science kits.
Games People Play is a great, reasonably priced place to go if you are in search of a gift for someone or a fun game to play!
