Meet the Business Owner

Jay Jay A.

Business Owner

Giant Star Records recording studio is owned and operated by Jay Jay Abels, a graduate from APRA, who works with and pushes the recording artist just enough to help bring out the best in themselves. He is currently enrolled in Berklee’s Online Music program expecting a «Masters Certificate in Music Production with Pro Tools».

Jay Jay grew up in Neptune, New Jersey during the «golden era» of Hip Hop and has been involved in the music industry for over 10 years now. His musical influences are mainly 90’s era Hip Hop artists as well as newer, more current mainstream and independent acts. He has resided in Calgary, Canada for the past 5 years, working with many of the local talents who have sought his experience, knowledge and equipment in order to gain their own edge in this very competitive and always evolving music industry.
