History

Established in 1959.

The Glenmore Sailing Club used to have a sign proclaiming it «The Highest Sailing Club in Canada!» due to the altitude in Calgary. Over the years, the club has grown in membership numbers, ambitions, and in its facility offerings. GSC has a close relationship with the Glenmore Sailing School, and also offers summer sailing camps for all ages.

Manager

Two years ago, Curtis was the unsuspecting recipient of a surprise birthday present of a membership to Glenmore Sailing Club. Since then he has learned the difference between cruising on the ocean and sailing on a reservoir, competed in an international sailing competition, and worked his way through two board positions. His wife also intends to learn to sail someday, but in the meantime is also volunteering with the club. Both enjoy the social atmosphere at GSC as well as its recreational opportunities, and have hosted a family birthday party at the clubhouse during a Family Friendly Friday.
