Charged twice for my hotel room. Called and was not taken seriously even though the individual did admit that hey had made the mistake. Told me management would call and now it’s been over two hours! Don’t stay here and if you do check your credit card statements!

The Grey Eagle Resort Casino set the stage for the hilarious Chris D’elia and it was an awesome venue! As a venue, the seating was pretty good. You can probably get a good view of the stage from any area. The bar situation was a bit hectic but you could see that the GERC was trying hard to keep up with the 2-drinks demands by having a bunch of bars throughout the event area. However, it was super busy for drinks and for the ATM. They had a cash-only bar, which kinda sucked as well. But I ran into the casino for an ATM and then came back to buy drinks. I would have bought my drinks in the casino but they don’t allow the casino drinks in the event’s area. I am not really a gambler but I do love Vegas and the GERC has elements that reminded me of Sin City. Like the buffet! On Friday, it was a Prime Rib Buffet for $ 25 and it was worth every single gluttonous penny! The food was really delicious and I ate everything from a mango cod to loaded mashed potatoes and all the pastas and some mixed-beans salad– I truly got my monies worth! The dessert section is worth mentioning because they had a large selection of delicious choices: cakes, pies, mousse, cookies, a chocolate fountains with the fixings and a good size selection of diabetic options. I would definitely come back for a show and stay around to eat and try my luck in the casino. For the out of towners, there is a hotel attached which looked pretty nice from the outside. :)

Had a full day work conference at Grey Eagle. From breakfast to lunch to snacks, they had an amazing selection of foods. There were options for those who were vegetarian as well. I’m pretty sceptical about food from casinos but the salmon in a light cream sauce and mushroom ravioli were to die for. They must have replenished each at least four times. The salads were fresh and they had a great range of drinks. The venue itself is pretty similar to other conference rooms in the city. A little on the cold side, so bring layers. They staff were great, almost ninja like in their presence. Interested to see how the weekend breakfast/lunch buffets will be, based on the mixed reviews.. .

We stayed here while in town for a show at the attached event centre. The hotel room was new, modern and spacious. The included breakfast buffet was housed in their restaurant and he food was above average for a hotel breakfast — it featured bannock and fresh Saskatoon jam which was awesome. Only one elevator was running while we were there and it made things a little chaotic in the lobby.

People should stop going there for buffet. When I went there couple years ago, it was $ 24. Now the seafood buffet is $ 39. Greedy ! I have never seen any place increasing their price at that speed

Really terrible food and an atmosphere that somehow manages to make the food taste even worse. After eating in this terrible and extremely dirty casino on three separate occasions I will not be returning for a fourth. If your idea of a nice day is to watch VLT jockies chain smoke while eating food that tastes like it was made a month ago then this is your cup of tea for sure. The entire building feels like it has not been cleaned in years and after getting home you will want to take a shower to wash off the smoke/grease/dust that have accumulated on every surface.

We stayed in this hotel for one night and we ran into quite a few problems. While the rooms look very nice, the thermostat did not work. The heater would not stop running no matter what we did, so the maintenance guy came to fix it and instead he told us to crack the window(it was –32C outside!) and he brought us an electric fan. In the middle of the night the heater stopped pumping heat and I woke as a giant icicle due to the open window. Yikes, not fun. While I realize things can happen from time to time it would have been nice to have been compensated for the uncomfortable stay which they didn’t do. Also, the fire alarm was on the fritz and went off at 10pm. The décor and bed were all very nice however, it just didn’t really make up for the heat issue.

Thursday Seafood Buffet Night. It’s one the their busiest night food was well done very good selections lobster claws, snow crab legs, freshly shacked oysters, shrimps, you name it. The price tag is $ 32.99 per/person once you pay the timer starts you have 1 ½ hour from the time you pay to finish your dinner. Better eat fast!!! did not like that but it’s more than enough time unless you plan to sit around and chat. There is alway a long line up. No reservations unless you have 6 or more. It was a good experience over all. I have photo that will go up.

Third time here having the«Asian Wednesdays» Buffet. It was less busy than the last 2 times, no line up. But busier after 6:30. The first time was years ago, it was bad, so I didn’t go again until last year when I craved for all-u-can-eat(I live close to there, so I just went there). The second time was not too bad, actually much better than the 1st time. Today was okay until I saw an INSECT on top of my SOUP(see pic)!!! I think I got it from the big pot of soup!!! OMG!!! I told the waiter there’s a bug in my soup, he just said he would take it away for me, that’s it… Anyway, the sushi, sashimi and oysters were okay; but if no long line up, go to the guy who make sushi instead of the prepared ones, the sushi and sashimi were fresher there. The hot asian food was not very good and the dessert was just okay. And remember only one drink is included, if u pick coke, u can keep asking for free refill, but u cannot switch to tea or coffee after 1 coke(or you pay for that).

Really bad service — sitting at the bar, the bar tender ignored us. When we asked for menus he actually threw them at us. Then, as hotel guests, we were told the restaurant was booked for a private event cause the rain that day made it impossible for the private event to be held on the patio where it was supposed to be. Considering the hotel has conference and banquet facilities perhaps that would have been a more appropriate option. Hotel guests were forced to sit in awkward corners and several to a table while the private event participants slowly trickled in. Within 90 minutes half the tables were still empty. We were seated in the darkest corner in the restaurant. The bars in the casino and restaurant all use high end liquors but there is no cocktail menu. Beer/highballs/wine only. The restaurant food was mediocre at best and the room service was inedible. The aioli for the room service was curdled and the wings were a grayish colour. Avoid at all costs. The hotel staff were all quite pleasant and the room itself was nice. The outdoor hot tub, pool and gym were all decent too. The lemon water by the elevators was a nice touch.

Yum, yum, yum! They have a great buffets. I have never been disappointment. The brunches in the weekend are worth every penny. They have eggs benny and everything else in between. The mouth watering chocolate foundation is something not to miss. They have a seafood buffet on Thursdays that is a huge hit for everyone. You wouldn’t be able to get that much seafood for that price anywhere else. On Wednesdays they have a Chinese buffet but keep in mind that it is more authentic Chinese food than the typical Americanized style that a lot of is are use to.

There are two Pauls: Gourmet Paul and Gluttonous Paul. This four star eating is coming from gluttonous Paul, who visited the $ 20 prime rib buffet after a long day of skiing. The prime rib is quite good, with rare always available, and the nicely browned skin bits on the side. The horseradish isn’t too hot and the jus was tasty. The rest of the hot buffet, including the pasta station, was nothing to write home about, but hey you’re getting all the prime rib you want for $ 20! The dessert highlights are the ice cream filled profiteroles, which you can dip in the milk chocolate fountain. The berry and chocolate mousses in chocolate cups were tasty too.

We don’t gamble much but we were invited to a birthday dinner at the buffet restaurant on the Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend. We arrived at 5pm and the line up was nearly out the door but luckily we had reservations. We did not have to wait to be seated until the entire party arrived. The service was not that great. Although we had a large group our server didn’t notice new additions to the group. We waited at least 15 mins to even order a glass of water and then another 15 mins for it to get to our table. We had stacks of empty plates as we finished. They were not cleared away and dishes began to pile up. The actual hot buffet line up was so messed up. On the left side there was Chinese food and the right side all the turkey fixings(except stuffing was on the Chinese food side) with two separate line ups. Turkey breast, beef, gravy and cranberries were in the middle. The lines over lapped with people who had come from the Chinese food line up, got turkey/gravy in the middle and then barged into the turkey fixing line up head-on. It was a serious cluster-fck. The turkey breasts were moist but the beef was tough and over done. The cooked veggie sides were so overcooked they were grey and mushy. The desserts though were a-ok. There was plenty of pumpkin pie, a chocolate fountain and many cookies, squares and chocolates. I think I ate more dessert than hot food. But I’m not sure I got $ 22.50 worth of food. Strangely they would not let us pay for our dinners separately, insisting it be one tab for food but they would allow us to pay our beverages separately. Because of the food tab, some folks had to go into the casino to use the ATM to pay cash for their portion. Parking was not an issue. We walked from the back of the lot, but there were plenty of spots available when we arrived. I can’t see myself going back there for the buffet again. It was fine but not great.

Observations: Barely any parking even on an early weeknight, be prepared to walk or get dropped off at the door Huge Bingo Parlor to the left when you walk in You can sign up for a Players Card at the very front that allows for points to accumulate each time you come in to visit(points towards what, not so clear) Non-smoking area OK far over by entrance Some areas for a non-smoker, not so enjoyable as there is no real defined border so if you are over by the bar, smoke you shall feel, smell and breathe Drink service horrible — go to the bar yourself if you would like one. The pinot grigio white wine was OK. Slot machines, meh MASSIVE lines for the buffet, I could never imagine waiting in that line up. Wed night is said to be Asian(sushi) night, Thurs night is seafood night and I was told that the prices are decent for what you get. I would imagine the food has to be pretty good for these flocks of people! The inside of the casino itself is open, large with high ceilings and not too bad overall. The comedians that they had in this night at the bar were horrible and were all but booed off the stage. We came in to check it out as we were in the area but would not make a special trip to come here especially due to the lack of parking, smoking and huge line ups for food.

It’s been over a year since I’ve had the the opportunity to check out the seafood buffet, so when my sister suggested we go on the Thursday before Easter(since we had Friday off work) it sounded like a perfect time to go again! I remember the line being pretty busy the last time I was there, so we decided to be at the casino at 5 when the buffet opened. After circling around the parking lot for 5 mins, we decided to send in my sister’s boyfriend to save us a place in line while we scoured for a place to park. When we finally did and hiked an eternity back to the casino(ok, everything seems like an eternity when you’re h-angry!), there was about 20 or so people ahead of us and about the same behind us in line! About 10 mins passed and we were slowly shuffled into the buffet area, passing by a lot of irritated people(They won’t seat you/let you in until your entire party is present so keep that in mind!) We paid up($ 22.99 + GST), got seated long enough to get our drink orders in and made a beeline to the buffet. It’s a pretty decent set up, they’ve got starters such as salads, pasta, bread, cheese, etc in the center section, an array of delicious looking desserts surrounding the chocolate fountain and the seafood in the back section. Not gonna lie, you have to be a bit aggressive if you wanna get the good seafood because people tend to hover/hog the lobster tails, scallops and crab while it’s being replenished. Our first round I grabbed a bit of pasta salad, some salmon lasagna(pretty delish!) and a few measly looking lobster claws(they were already picked over and I just wanted to start eating already!). Our next few rounds were just lobster, the crab was too much work for such small amounts of meat. As we were wandering around deciding what to get for dessert, a fresh tray of scallops passed by so we grabbed a few(I didn’t realize they were raw. .. not really a fan) and then dipped some fresh fruit into the chocolate fountain to finish our meal. The chocolate was still creamy tasting even after it harden — that’s a rarity! As we headed out, the line to get in was INSANE! It wrapped out to the front entrance of the casino, and it was nearing 7:30 by then. I can’t even imagine what time the people at the end of the line would have gotten in! I guess because this place is quite far I don’t frequent it as much as I’d like, but I’ll definitely be back for another seafood adventure.

I went there this morning for the $ 1.99 breakfast which is available until 11 A.M. I had eaten breakfast there in the past and was satisfied with the food and service but this was my first return in over six months. Unfortunately the experience was not what I hoped it would be. I arrived at 10:35 but despite the short line it took a very long time to be seated, Rather than walk me to my seat, the greeter pointed to a booth in the far back and told me I could sit there. Having found my seat it took even longer for a waiting person to find me. So much time in fact that I decided to wait 10 minutes and have the lunch buffet which started at 11:00. Did I mention there was no cutlery on the table? I asked for coffee while I waited for the buffet and the server returned about 5 minutes later with the coffee. This was the last time I saw the server in the hour I was there. I was never asked if I wanted my coffee refilled and I was left to my own devices to source eating utensils and a napkin. As far as the food was concerned I was impressed by the quantity and selection of salads and desserts but the warm entrees were very unimpressive. There was a choice of four meat and fish dishes. There was a wrap containing Ham and Cheese which looked very uninteresting although I never tried it. The Beef and Mushroom Stew looked like a pool of gravy with some well hidden pieces of beef and mushroom lurking somewhere beneath the surface. I also tried the other hot selections which were Basa with Spinach Cream Sauce(the best of the hot entrees but very average) and a piece of Carved Whole Chicken which was cut in quarters by the on duty server(this was over cooked and the skin was almost white which seemed strange for roast chicken). When I was ready to leave about 45 minutes later I tried to spot the waiting person to ask for a bill but since no one was in sight and I had been on my own for almost an hour I headed for the cashier. It was apparent from my observations while waiting to speak to the cashier that there are some staffing and management issues that need to be addressed. When I told the cashier I needed a bill, I was told they need to find the waitress who finally appeared. I was really disappointed because it was obvious that people were not being attended to and nobody seemed to care. There is simply no excuse when you are ignored for almost an hour. I doubt that I will be back.

Visited the Tsuu T’ina rez and ended up having lunch at the Flame restaurant within the Grey Eagle Casino. This place seems to be doing well. It’s fairly new, and you can tell by the nicely laid out and decorated casino. I’m not a gambler, but I can appreciate the ambiance of a casino. Flashing lights, bells, whistles, money flying left & right, hope rising and falling, no windows, maze-like layout, etc. Flame restaurant was nice(there’s also a buffet, but I didn’t feel like a glutton). I had ordered the liver & onions, and for a second I thought it was going to be served rez-style, but instead it was presented very cleanly & artistically… ummm…should I eat this, or take a picture. The liver was good(almost as good as mom makes). With everything the casino offers, it’s gratifying to know the money generated by this venture goes toward the Tsuu T’ina people. If I were to lose $$ here, it’s nice to know it’s going to a fellow Treaty 7 tribe.
