Mr Damen is not the lawyer for a family law case. He is a former cop and i think he is working with them then actually helping families out. I was very disappointed and eventually lost my money to a lawyer who didn’t do any better than i could of done on my own. we ended getting a different lawyer in the end who resolved our problems. That was a 7k mistake if there ever was one

I never thought I’d write a positive review about a law firm, but I guess there is a first time for everything. Arkell Damen Hoffman is the lawyer used by our home builder, Broadview Homes. By using their lawyer, we save money. But by using their lawyer, you don’t get your own. This is either a good or bad thing depending on the builder, and in our case it was good.
The first thing made clear to us when sitting down with the lawyer (the Arkell of the namesake), is that he represents both of us on that day, but should a dispute come up down the road he is on the side of the builder. What that means is that we need to get our own lawyer should we need one. Makes sense, but it was still nice to hear him being honest and laying his cards on the table.
After getting through the disclaimers, we went straight to looking at the contract and other paperwork. He was unbelievably thorough and explained anything we needed further clarification on. He let us know what to expect and gave us some advice on how to handle disputes before getting lawyers involved.
It was a great experience, actually. Surprising and great. We left feeling good, not feeling like we just signed into something that we weren’t comfortable with, and without any questions. I mean, what more can you ask from a lawyer?
