I had linoleum installed in my house by Jordans a few years ago. My neighbors had used Jordans for their kitchen lino and did a great job so I felt comfortable with them. Purchasing linoleum was a huge deal for me because it was a large area of floor and it wasn’t something I could change right away if I didn’t like it. So I started my search for the perfect linoleum. That search lasted over a year. I had been in Jordans a number of times to look at samples, took some home, asked my friends & neighbors for their opinions. It seemed never ending. I just couldn’t decide. Finally I had made my decision and I phoned up Lee at Jordans Floor Coverings to tell him the good news. I had chosen the Congoleum with the large squares that looked like tiles and had these pebble-like designs in between. It was really nice. The large squares were a warm sandstone color and the pebbles in between were blue and green. That would match the curtains in my dining room. Lee politely informed me that the Congoleum lino had been discontinued. My heart sank. He said it would not be possible to get it in. I started to cry. Yes, it was devastating. There was no other linoleum that would go as well in my house. I had to get this stuff. I went to the internet and found the Congoleum website. I found their Canadian offices and started to phone distributors in Western Canada. No luck. They didn’t have it. I tried out East. One had another shade of the pattern but not the color I wanted. Then, I found a place in Quebec that had a whole roll of my lino. I was ecstatic! I phoned up Lee and told him the good news. He would contact the distributor. When he did, they told him he would have to purchase the entire roll, even though we didn’t need it all. In the end, it would cost me a bit more for the shipping and everything but it would totally be worth it. The day arrived for the installation. George and his crew came in and tore up the old stuff. Then put down the sub-floor. Next came the linoleum. It was a large job and there were 5 stairs to the second level that also had to be done, but the guys were quick and no mess left behind. George had to come back and put the toe kicks on the stairs and I happened to be home. He said that my choice of lino was perfect. It matched the walls and decorations and I couldn’t have found a better choice. I told him that I thought his work was the best I’ve ever seen. In fact, it was better than my neighbors. He did an amazing job of matching the lines and patterns in the lino. He cut the little pebbles in between the tiles and used that for the back part of the stairs and under the counters, just like they do in Mexico. It was stunning. I have never seen such workmanship and I told him that. It was above and beyond my expectations. If I ever had to install lino or carpet or any type of floor covering, Jordans would be my first and only choice. Their staff is professional, courteous, accommodating, and their installers and the best in the business. The prices are reasonable and they have a huge selection. You will not be disappointed here. My experience with the lino installation by Jordans was the very best it could be. I even cried when I sold my house and had to leave the lino behind. I cried again when I found out the lady who bought my house ripped it out. At least I have the pictures and memories of the wonderful work Jordans did and can look forward to using them again in the future.
