La Belle Nails & Spa

I REALLY wanted to like this place. My usual nail salon was closed so I popped over here after a quick Unilocal search and luckily they were able to fit me right in. They had a TON of Shellac colors, and the salon was really clean and had a cute pink theme with fluffy pink pillows on the chairs. The nail ladies seemed really sweet, but didnt speak much English. Once I was seated, she offered me a bottle of water which I thought was a nice touch. The smaller nail salons typically don’t do that, so I made a mental note of it. I also saw her open a fresh sterilized package of nail tools, which was another plus. She started on my nails and all was going well until she took out the drill. I was confused because, I have NEVER had my nails drilled during a Shellac manicure. That’s kind of the point… it’s called «soak off polish» for a reason, I took my gel nails off to give them a break from the drill. I didn’t say anything because it was too late to turn back, but it HURT! My nails were so sore afterwards. The color looks amazing and she did a really good job, but I can’t handle having my nails drilled, which is unnecessary with Shellac. Usually the polish is soaked off in alcohol, and the nails are buffed, not drilled. For that reason alone, I probably will not return, unless it was just for a pedicure.
