It seems that a quarter of the Calgarian population is Filipino, simply because many are immigrant workers here, who have moved from the Philippines to make money to support their families back home. Most of them you will see as caregivers, working at fast food places or working as nannies, but almost all of them have already graduated in the Philippines and are accredited with medical and engineering degrees. I believe that the Canadian dollar is worth well over 45 pesos now therefore the demand to work here and to send gifts and money home to the Philippines is so great that Manila Express was born. I have just recently helped pack and send my shopaholic mother’s bought things to the Philippines and we are talking 11 boxes; 11 full boxes that are 3 feet by 2 feet wide jammed pack full of sale items and goodies back to relatives in the Philippines. Now for 60 to 110 dollars depending on what island you are sending it to; Manila Express will not only send your boxes jammed packed full with no weight restrictions but they will also pick it up at your home for you as well. An amazing deal until the retrieval person got lost several times trying to find my mother’s condo which is only a full 4 block radius from their office. So this is my only complaint, this service is worth it if the dispatch part of Manila Express can get more organised. Otherwise, especially now with the complications of the horrid weather conditions in the Philippines; Manila Express does provide tons of relief!
