I like this place. First of all, it’s McDonalds, not the Owls Nest, let’s get that out of the way. BUT, service is quick, the counter staff speak English(sorry, I’m old and my hearing is going). Staff are friendly, Staff keeps the place clean. Customers are mannerly. Easy access.

Usually go inside when I stop at this location. Today I was in a hurry. The parking lot was almost empty and there were no cars in the drive-thru. Sweet — this will go fast. It did. Starving so I ate my BBQ Crispy Chicken Wrap on the way home. You guessed it — NOT Crispy and NOBBQ Sauce — or so I thought until I got to the bottom of the wrap and there was a big blob of sauce, which of course then fell on my shirt. Sweet. My ride home was quick, no red lights. Yeah. Ran inside the house — gave my husband the bag… said grace quick. Time to dig into those fries we both love. Oops… cold and lifeless. No sign of the crunch we enjoy. Boo. Lesson — go inside to order. On the bright side — the Quarter Pounder w/Cheese was McMarvelous!

Truly one of calgary’s finest dining establishments. Removes the pretension of having to order food by name, and replaces with convenient and multi-lingual numerals. I highly recommend their fried meat sandwiches, served with a side of fried potatoes. Perhaps a nice cup of 2014 Coca-Cola would pair nicely. Magnificent.

I don’t know if this is the busiest McDonald’s in the city, but as far back as I can remember I’ve never been to this location and not seen a line. Being across the street from COP and on the way out of town to the ski hills, you get quite a mixed crowd here. You’re almost always guaranteed to hear an accent of some sort from a visiting tourist. Add in the families heading out for a day of skiing and this restaurant can be a little bit of a gong show. As with all of the other restaurants in Canada, this one has had a makeover. While its nice to see that they’ve kept the fireplace which isn’t very common for a McDonald’s, it no longer has the Olympic charm it once did. Kind of sad.
