Meat Vs. Veggie UYE

The Unilocal Calgary Crew was at it again! This time Sabz was kind enough to host this potluck in her charming Kensington abode.
Also, Sabahat exacted her revenge on me when she tried to POISON me with her Naga hot sauce: P
We had a TON of food. You know a good potluck happens when you can’t stop coming back for food over and over again. Everyone’s dishes danced well with each other in my belly: Sabz and Kenny’s variant curry dishes, and Wendy’s Namskar Non-​Meatballs.
We ended a night with an impromptu reading review exerpts from Nacho

Oh we also played Family Feud online. Luis Martinez wasn’t invited because someone had to be destroyed by us!

Tiffany got it right — we can review the delicious food-​driven extravaganza that was the Meat vs Veggie UYE!
Kenny’s thai beef curry, Chris’s bengali beef curry, Tiffany’s kare kare, Wendy’s Namskar contribution, Sarah’s pumpkin vegan cake and Angelo’s tapioca ball dessert — EVERYTHING was delicious. My kitchen counter has not seen so much good food all at once in AGES! I can happily say that everyone passed their culinary test with gold stars!
The Naga chili tasting was rather amusing also, with Tiffany starting off by saying it was pleasantly sweet, then realizing she spoke to soon. to Angelo heading to the balcony to cool off. We ate enough to feel like a bunch of overstuffed balloons unable to move. The amaretto-​tapioca dessert at the end was the last straw I think, with Wendy thinking she was seeing blinking lights, and Angelo finding his way to my couch, curling up in a fetal position.
BUT OUR BELLIES WERE SO HAPPY!

Woooo, everyone else forgot that you can review UYEs! FTR! This was a cozy UYE hosted by Kenny M. and Sabahat N. in Sabz’s lovely home. Lots of curry, my vegan version of Kare Kare (
), Wendy’s homemade Namskar, Sarah Louise’s fantastic bakes and Angelo’s Amaretto Taho (
). Enough food to knock over an army of Elephants! Even though there wound up being no Iron Chef-​esque face-​off between the Children of the Forest and the Children of the… Farm? It was a delicious, food-​coma inducing good time, which included a Naga chili sauce taste-​testing that had Angelo heading for the balcony.

I felt left out for not reviewing this yet, but then I remembered EVERYONE ELSE should feel left out for missing out on our rad potluck! Potlucks are pretty well my favourite thing and this one was no exception.
This was held in Sab’s adorable apartment and featured some lovely food that all ended up pretty complimentary!
While I did not get to sample Kenny and Chris’ dishes, I got to feast on Tiffany’s salsa and vegan kare kare, Wendy’s Namskar Chana Masala (I heard it took her four days to make), and Angelo’s amaretto tapioca and tofu deliciousness. My BELIEF SYSTEM prevented my from sampling the other dishes but I must say they looked amazing, well done. I was too full to eat my own pumpkin cake but I ate some for breakfast. and thought about how much life rules.
Since we were too busy stuffing our faces, no contender took the title of IRON POTLUCK CHEF. Children of the forest, we shall take the title next time.
