I want to love this place, they have some really cute stuff. However, I have bought five items from here and four of them have fallen apart. The fifth I’ve only worn twice so it really hasn’t had much of a chance yet. I’ve never shopped at a place where I have had such bad luck. Considering the price of the clothes(on the high side for the style) and very poor quality I won’t be shopping here anymore. All in all I’ve put over $ 250 worth of clothing in the trash after a month or two of wear.

I was wandering 17th Ave looking for places to shop, and found Purr. The exterior is a bit… misleading, perhaps, but the selection inside is really great. There are tons of racks to search through, and the selection is very well curated. The biggest thing that impressed me was the level of care the staff take with their customers — one customer was in need of something very specific and a saleswoman was attentively helping her out, while another was going into great detail about the different lines they carry and it was clear to me that her passion for the clothing showed through in how she spoke about the clothes. For me personally, I was happy to browse solo, but the staff were curiteious and helpful, and I really enjoyed looking around. Unfortunately no big sales for me — I didn’t fall in love with anything on this visit, but I’d check in again on my next visit to Calgary.

I love everything in here, though a lot of it is out of my price range. Fortunately there is also always an excellent sale section. Great location as well!

So I was walking down 17th Ave, not really planning on shopping at all. You see, I was kind of dressed like I was ready to go camping, partially because it’s comfy, mostly because it was laundry day. I was apprehensive about going into Purr because I didn’t want to be judged on my cottage wear. But then I was all, «No! I am a strong independent woman! I have a job, and I want to spend my hard earned paycheque on fancy blouses, and I want to do it now, dammit!» So I went in, and all of the sales associates were super friendly, despite the fact that I looked like I just came from Bass Pro Shops. I had a lovely experience, and really enjoyed the selection. If you ever shop at Modcloth, it’s a similar style to what they’ve got. It’s pricier than the mall, but you do get what you pay for — all of the brands are stuff you’d never find at a box store. This is a great boutique experience. Stop on in if you’ve never been!

I do like their clothes but it feels very expensive to me and über trendy-not classic styles. So if you want $ 100 dollar items to only wear this year then its the place to go.

Trendy, chic and adorable clothing… Purr has it all! This is a fantastic little shop on 17th that is every girls dream come true. There are so many fantastic dresses in this store I could just get lost in it. I spent a fair chunk of time wandering around this store lusting over dresses and inspecting the fabrics. This is a pretty busy store and the only disappointing thing was that there wasn’t more change rooms, three is definitely not enough for this place. This place is filled with adorable fashion and I’m sure I could spend my entire pay cheque here! This is an all ladies fashion store with tons available for those of you who follow the trends — check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

I previously avoided walking into Purr as I was intimidated by the stylish and trendy storefront. I felt it might be overpriced, but I’m so glad I ventured in! They have such a wide selection of cute clothing for women at average prices. I would definitely come back again for a cute summer dress!

One of the better Purr stores in Calgary with two full floors of Purr goodness. With belts, jeans and men’s clothing on the lower level, purses on the landing, and women’s clothing upstairs, Purr has most definitely got something for everyone. They’ve already got some super cute summer dresses out, along with trendy caps, sexy tops and funky Ts. The staff is helpful and the clothing is dispersed enough so that you don’t feel too cramped as you peruse the racks. Happy shopping y’all!

Purr makes me Purrrrrrr, this location is quite convenient, and parking can be found at the 711 parking lot on the corner of 4th Street and 17th Avenue SW. Two floors offer clothing for men and women, as well as jewellery, shoes, purses and hats. Purr has a diverse array of designer clothing; Amongst them are Free People, Ben Sherman, Edie Weiner, Levis, and Chula but Purr also has the price tags to prove it. In a way I am glad I am not your standard body type otherwise I would be spending a lot of money here. The options are amazing, but a simple T-shirt with graphics can put a dent on your bank account of $ 50 to $ 100. Bag designs are to die for, the most unique and wonderful styles, most of them leather but they start at $ 70, and these are the sale tags. One of the most obvious appeals for me here are the sales people. They kind of remind you of a group of your favourite high school friends, who are so easy to talk to and you know you will get an honest opinion of what you could or should not buy. If you have the income to splurge here then by all means do, I would however recommend Espy in Inglewood for the same type of designer clothing at 25 to 50% less than the price tags here.

This Purr location is my addiction, my love and my credit nightmare. Though I try to stay away, I always come back for the wonderful selection of clothes, purses and shoes. They have some of the most eclectic and delightful clothes in Calgary. A lot of the women’s clothing is whimsical and stylish, a little indie and really cute. The men’s clothing definitely veers towards hipster, all skinny jeans and cardigans and intricately designed hoodies. And hats. Oh yes, they have hats too. The shoes change from season to season of course, but they are always precious, usually comfortable and are(relatively) flat. The staff at this location tend to be a lot friendlier — engaging people in idle chatter, giving recommendations if you can’t find what you’re looking for in store… All that good stuff. Definitely a step up from the Kensington location. I have only two beefs with the store: 1) There are like, two or three changerooms. The moment the store gets busy, you have to wait a decent amount of time… 2) And that amount of time often has me realize that maybe I don’t REALLY need an embellished sailor’s dress that costs a pretty penny. The cost of clothing here gets pretty high pretty fast.

I’ll be quite honest. I love this store, but have never ever bought anything from the women’s section. All the clothes are pretty expensive and I’m not looking to pay $ 90 for a teeny tiny tank top. I have, however, purchased a couple of men’s sweatshirts(obviously not for me). Purr used to carry the Artful Dodger line, which manufactured really interesting, intricately designed hoodies and sweaters. They were so unique that I didn’t mind paying a whole lot for them… I knew my boyfriend would love them, and I was right. Sadly, they no longer carry the line, so I probably won’t be buying anything else from this store. There’s a tiny men’s section which occupies the lower level of Purr. It carries your pretty basic needs; shirts, hats, pants, and even some shoes. The men’s clothing isn’t as overly priced as the females, which is sad because I don’t wear men’s clothes. Maybe I should start… The entire upstairs level is dedicated to the ladies. Honestly, I’m usually too intimidated to spend that much time up there. I’m also afraid of accidentally wrecking something and being forced to replace it. The clothes that they have are all so nice. They have very funky, trendy, hip clothes. It’s a kind of fashion you don’t see in many other places. This store is definitely unique in that way. If you have the money and can afford wearing Purr’s clothes, then all the power to you… I’m pretty envious. Maybe one day I’ll make enough money to wear their clothes, but as of now, it’s just a dream I have.
