We specialize in freshly made artisan bread, buns and poundcakes. We proudly offer over 80 types of deli meats, more than 40 different cheeses, plus a wide selection of imported groceries from all over Europe. Our deli carries something for everyone’s taste and needs and the bakery offers authentic, handcrafted sourdough bread, still made the same way it was done many years ago.

We cater lunch meetings, birthday parties, after work receptions and private functions from 3 to 200 persons. If you would like a full meal with Soup, Salad, Cold Drinks, Sandwich and Dessert or just an afternoon snack — we’re happy to help you with our catering experience and fresh quality products.

History

Established in 1972.

Rustic Sourdough Bakery started as Chalet bakery over 40 years ago. For many breads, the recipes have not changed since then.

Business Owner

Jos Rehli, Master Baker & Owner of Rustic Sourdough Bakery.

Rehli is a third-​generation Baker from Klosters, Switzerland where his family ran Rehli’s Bakery for decades. Rehli’s was located across the street from the Hotel Walserhof, a favourite of many visiting celebrities. One of Rehli’s regular customers was Prince Charles who would buy two buns and a white Toblerone each morning before heading out to the ski hill.

Born into the bakery business, Rehli was raised to be a baker for as long as he remembers. When he was five, he remembers hoping for a soccer ball or a pair of skates for Christmas. But his Christmas dream was crushed when he opened his big present to find a custom-​made, all-​white baker’s outfit. His parents thought he looked great in his uniform — Rehli felt otherwise.

Fortunately, his father had also baked a batch of lebkuchen, young Rehli’s favourite Christmas treat. A few of those with a glass of milk and he was feeling better.
