Best shawarma in the city hands down. Great owner who cares about both his food and customer.

I haven’t been to all of Calgary’s shawarma restaurants, but this is my favourite to this point. Friendly owner, generous portions, and flavourful meats. I recommend the chicken/beef platter, but be prepared to either share or bring some home. Free baklava with purchase is a nice bonus.

I love this place! I travel to Calgary frequently for business and discovered this place on Unilocal. The owner is awesome and one of the nicest people you will meet. The shawarma is excellent. I usually get a chicken salad or the chicken shawarma platter. It’s always great. I’m a big believer in supporting small business and I will keep coming back here again and again!

Excellent food! The mixed shawarma was fantastic. And the service was exceptionally friendly and fast. Bummed I don’t live in Calgary as this would be a regular place for me every week!

A friend told me about this place, he says it looks like one of the best shawarma places in Calgary. So I gave it a try, I ordered a donair shawarma with all the vegetables. I would say is the best in town but definitely a very good one. Totally recommended

By far the BEST !!! Donairs in Calgary hands down. Being from Vancouver It took me a long time to find a place that actually does it right and this is it. Really fresh flavourful ingredients, great prices and the customer service is top notch. I’ll definitely be returning time and time again.

I am enjoying the vine leaves and my friend is dying over the Donair. Outstanding is all I can say. The owner Mo knows everyone — I feel like family amongst this family business. Now I am so full I can’t walk but so worth it!

I eat here once a week or so and am always happy with my delicious meal! The gentleman that owns the business almost always the one who makes my food, and he’s incrediby friendly, kind and polite. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced, plus you get free baklava! The entire place is always immaculately clean. I recommend all my friends go here if they’re hungry and in the neighbourhood.

I have been going here about once every two weeks or so for the past 6 months — year or so. I usually get the Chicken Shawarma Platter but I have had the donair wrap, donair platter and usually get Falafel and Baklava with my meal. Falafel: Best in Calgary I’m not a huge fan of falafel, but I tried it once as they usually give me a free falafel ball if they have them. It was amazing. Hands down the best i’ve ever had. Now I make sure to grab at least one or two every time, and even though I tell them to charge me for it, they never do. Baklava: Fresh and tasty every time I also usually will get a free baklava piece with my meal. They are fresh and delicious too, homemade tasting for sure. Garlic Avocado Sauce: Unique and mouthwateringly delicious This is the only place in town that I’ve tried that has garlic avocado sauce. It is UNBELIEVABLE. They sometimes run out, but usually they’ll have it. I was skeptical at first, but now, I can’t live without it. You have to try it. Portions: Awesome The portions are generous, and if you ask for extra sauce or veg, they will load it on until you’re pleading, «STOP!» haha. I love that so much. Service: Super friendly and quick There are some friendly donair places in Calgary, but this one is probably one of the friendliest. Even though the owner works nearly around the clock, he always greets me with a smile and asks how i’ve been, etc. I haven’t had any problems with my experiences here, but I get the impression that if I did, they would go out of their way to make it right. Service times are very quick too, as they re-cook the meat ahead of time and keep it hot in their serving dish. Amazing if you’re short on time. Prices are competitive, atmosphere is clean(with flatscreen TVs usually tuned to sports) and bright, and the location and hours simply cannot be beat. if you haven’t tried this place yet, do yourself a favour and give it a go.

My previous review for this restaurant was a 4 star but has since been updated to a 5. The original review was based on one visit. Since then I have been to this restaurant many times during the lunch hour. I am impressed by the quality of the food and the speed of service. The staff is always friendly and courteous. I normally get the chicken shawarma salad to go and I have never been disappointed. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody.

Oh my goodness. I love this place so much. One of the best late-night eats you can find. And when I say«late,» I mean, they are open until 4am on weekends. The shawarma, oh the shawarma … I am craving it right now thanks to having to write this stupid review. But luckily for you lot, I am willing to suffer through the pangs of hunger to tell you about the glory of this place. I recommend the Mix(chicken & beef … $ 10.50), with everything. Ah-bup-bup-bup! … no, don’t skip that topping! … I said, «EVERYTHING.» When you let them make your shawarma with no holds barred, the layers of flavour you will experience from that delicious wrap will envelop your tastebuds like a tasteable symphony. Savoury and spicy, sweet and sour, hot and cold, soft and cruchy … ITISSOGOOD. Portion is good, menu is simple, place is clean, staff are super nice … STOPREADINGANDSTARTEATING.

I don’t usually award five stars to anything but Shawarma House truly deserves it. As soon as you walk in the owner cheerfully greets you with a «Hello my friend! How are you today?». The food is phenomenal and served up very quickly. They always give free baklava with your order which really hits the spot after a spicy shawarma. When speaking with the owner I get a very genuine vibe that he appreciates your business. When it’s not busy I’ve had some brief chats with him. I asked him about Ramadan and he was very open to discussing it. You can tell he’s proud of his food and his culture. With all the food options available in Calgary it’s refreshing to go to a place where the customer is very appreciated. And now I’m hungry… guess I have my lunch plans.

Super friendly staff and the best shawarma in town for my money, I just wish they had a smaller(cheaper) size. Try the shawarma salad, $ 2 cheaper for all the same stuff, minus the pita, but they include a falafel. Free baklava with every order too! Recent price bump has put them over the $ 10 lunch with a drink threshold. Bit on the pricy side in my opinion.

This place is just around the corner from my office, and it’s the best lunch option around in my eyes. First, the service is great. I’m always greeted with a big smile and polite chatting. They remember regulars and give out free baklava to everyone. Second, the food is great. I love that they put lots of toppings on my donair instead of just sprinkling on the veggies like some places do – lots of meat, lots of pickles, lots of sauce, lots of everything so it’s actually balanced and you get all the tastes when you bite into it. They really pile it on, so it’s a great deal and a filling lunch for $ 9. The meat is well-seasoned and I love their garlic and sweet sauces. The tabouli salad is great too, with tons of parsley. I’ve never had a bad donair here, and I have to limit myself to only going a couple times per week or I’d be in there every day.

This is my go-to Shawarma place. The owner is awesome and gives you huge sized portions and free baclava dessert. Such a great place to eat. I have ventured out to other Shawarma places but have always been disappointed, none have ever topped this place. Fresh ingredients, generous portions and reasonable prices… plus free dessert! If you’re looking for great shawarma, then this is the place to go.

Hubby gives this place a 5 out of 5 and I have no qualms with that. This is HIS area of cuisine + love for it as he grew up with it all his life via his step-dad. Therefore, I trust him with the authenticity, methods of cookery opinions and all that. I just go with my taste buds and past experience of trying different spots to determine a good Lebanese restaurant. The space is open and inviting with a few tables and the wraps hubby chose from were just under the $ 10 mark. Good deal. I found all the pricing to be decent. It was also quite clean — most importantly, the food prep area. The owner could not have been nicer and when he heard it was our first time here we got to try a few things on the house. Baklava — deelish. Honey, honey, honey, flaky but not too sweet. The felafel balls — best I have personally ever had. Large, crispy, aromatic, with a delicate center even at room temp with a wicked accompanying sauce. The chicken pita did make it still unwrapped until we got all the way home. I had a couple of bites and was wowed. All of the ingredients worked so well together meat, veg, sauces) and the whole thing was demolished in just minutes. It was beautifully made and pressed to perfection. I have a feeling we will be regular fixtures there whenever we pass through downtown. Easy to find parking when the strip mall it is located in is not too busy. Open til 11pm on weeknights, Fri and Sat = 4am!) I can only imagine how insane it would be at 3am on a weekend(enter visual). Even the drunks know where lies the good after-party food!
