I was in the other day to have my eyebrows threaded. Saw their promo on the sign driving into SkyView.
The man as the hostess was friendly but the woman (I’m assuming she’s the one that does all the services there) made my experience uncomfortable and uninviting. At the end of my eyebrow threading, she then took me on a tour of the place saying she does nails and other services. When I got home, there were still very noticeable stray hair which o had to tweeze myself. All in all, the eyebrows threading does somewhat get cleaned up and it’s for $ 8. I don’t think would go out of my way to be here tho.

I am writing this complaint because I was shocked and very disappointed at how this business is being managed. After receiving a faulty set of gel nails (the gel was applied too thin and the nails broke off within 24 hours of being put on), I made an appointment to get them repaired. During the repair, another nail broke and I asked to have them completely removed as well as a refund since their product was defective. The first issue is the fact that there is only one person working at this salon who is expected to check in people for tanning as well as complete manicures, pedicures, etc. During my appointment, we were interrupted several times as she had to deal with other customers. One man was left with his feet soaking for a pedicure for half an hour. The second issue is the completely unprofessional way the owner/​manager handled the situation. The person working on my nails phoned the owner/​manager to discuss how to proceed with the issue of my nails. The owner/​manager reluctantly agreed to give me a refund while questioning if I should receive the tip portion of what I paid back. She also questioned if I was pregnant, trying to put the blame of the faulty nails on an increase in my nail oil. I did not appreciate the suggestion that this disaster was my fault. I left the salon with pieces of gel still on my nails, one gel nail still attached and the surface of my nails completely ruined from the nail buffer because of a rushed removal. I wasn’t even given an apology or offered a free manicure to compensate for the waste of my time and the damage to my nails this has caused. This has been one of the worst experiences I have had in any salon in Calgary. Appalling that they would let someone walk out of their salon with nails the state mine were in. Awful.
