I do quite a bit of construction work and for the most part this Home Depot usually has exactly what I require as far as tools and materials go. Some of items that are stocked there aren’t as high quality as I’d like but overall it’s perfect for the everyday homeowner looking to repair something or start up a home project. The staff greeter was very knowledgeable and pointed me to the exact aisle of my desired product just by memory.

I don’t think I’ve been to a hardware store with more ready-to-help and friendly employees. You know that response you get when you ask a question to someone who’s working, and they look obviously irritated with you? Then they point where you have to go but don’t bother accompanying you? That’s kind of what I’m used to from Lowes and Rona to be honest. But here, I am pretty sure I asked about 5 different employees for things and they all walked me over to what I needed and gave me many options cheerfully. Even if they were busy unloading or loading things, they didn’t hesitate to help me. This is a great place to go for anyone. Even if you’re a pro, things are laid out very nicely with the spacious aisles. The staff are very friendly for the novices like me that have tons of questions and need a lot of direction. I felt good even checking out, as the check out employee was friendly and conversational, not a grumpy teenager waiting for his/her shift to end. I highly recommend this location!

Went in here today to get a window security bar as last night someone broke into our house an stole all of our Christmas presents, electronics, food/chocolate. When they heard my story they gave me the bar for free. Those ladies that helped me are absolute angels and restored some faith in people to me. Thanks Home Depot.

There is more to Home Depot than Christmas trees. Look, I know that. You know that. They have home improvement stuff: drywall and screws and lightbulbs and paint and electrical thingies. This is one of the bigger locations in Calgary, and the staff tend towards available, and they have all Home Depot sections needed. So that’s out of the way, you know to come here for that stuff. But for me, especially today(Christmas tree day!) I know that Home Depot is the best place to buy some fresh pine, or what-have-you. Home Depot is awesome Xmas tree central. I take Christmas tree shopping seriously: it has to be wide enough to fill up a goodly part of my living room and tall enough to almost touch the ceiling, with just enough room for the star. It can’t shed too much. It has to smell piney and christmasy, but not fake-like. I’m the person climbing in and on and under trees, holding them up and trying them out and pissing off the staff members by being there for over an hour. I touch branches and compare«breeds»(what’s the word for that for trees?) and look for my fairytale tree. Home Depot has quality, variety and a place to saw off the bottom for optimal water intake. This Home Depot, to me, will always be Xmas tree central.
