Specialties

The Light Cellar is a Calgary-based, family owned business offering fairly traded, sustainably priced, organic superfoods, superherbs, medicinal mushrooms, ferments, elixirs and raw chocolate making ingredients to individuals and bulk buyers.

We offer ongoing classes, events and workshops to support you in sustainably and deliciously nourishing your body, mind and spirit.

History

Established in 2009.

The vision of The Light Cellar was inspired by owner Malcolm Saunders’ love for creating delicious, nourishing food, his passion for Chocolate. and hsi desire to inspire others to live and eat from a space of peace, sustainability, and consciousness.

The Grand Opening was attended by Malcolm’s favorite Super Food Hero; David Wolfe — this special beginning energized our ever growing vision to bring real food and powerful events to the community.

In subsequent years we have grown to offer many leading edge products and healing foods, traditional and indigenous knowledge and wisdom nutritional delivery systems and ways of connecting deeply with the biological intelligence we all carry within.

In the summer of 2013 the Light Cellar expanded to include an Elixir Bar, larger retail space, and a wonderful new Teaching Kitchen!
