Wouldn’t sell me a co2 tank when I desperately needed one. I’ve been a regular customer for 3 years but when I need something and it’s not related to beer making they wouldn’t sell it. Extremely disappointed because I’m going to lose about $ 300 in livestock.

Making beer? This is your spot to go! They have three kinds of beer kits, which is more than I’ve seen from any other store, but what makes the vineyard extra special is the tools that would allow you to take your beer to the next step. Making beer from a kit is a lot like making a cake from a box. Yeah, it’s good, but it doesn’t matter how incredible a baker you are, it’s still going to taste like boxed cake. At the vine yard you’ll find a bunch of Malts, hops, and even pots to make your own beer wart or supe up one of the kits. Sick of bottling your beer? They’ve got all the parts in stock(mostly) to make your own kegerator!(Pretty excited to get that call saying my CO2 bottle is in!) As far as service goes, they seem really good if you get them talking. In several occasions it was the customer who made the first contact, which feels kind of weird in a store like this. They seemed content to let me poke around the gear in silence without assessing the situation. But once I seemingly broke the ice she was quite resourceful, friendly and made me feel welcome. I picked up some kegerator parts, a wine and beer kit, but Hopefully I’ll be back to pick up a CO2 bottle any day now. And probably some Port(dessert wine) kits too.

Warning! Many beer related puns and innuendo ahead. I’ve started to delve into the world of home brewing and these guys are one of a couple of the supply stores in the city. The first time I HOPPED over here was just to check out the store as I was putting together a budget to figure out WORT I would MEAD for equipment. Their website has quite the MASH-up of products listed and there’s a TUN of them, but some areas leave the palette dry so it was necessary to come in and check things out. They have a wall with probably any grains or extract or flavouring you could possibly need for a brew. They also have lots of brewing kits to choose from if you’re not interested in finding your own recipe. Many of the basic parts and equipment are out on the shelves or hanging behind the counter with at least one of everything on display for the big ticket items like brew pots/kettles, wort chillers, and plate chillers. They sometimes have used corny kegs but they’re limited and go fast. They sell 5 and 20lb CO2 tanks and offer a swap out program. This is just the beginning for me so I can’t comment on the service or knowledge of the staff yet. 10% discount here for Cowtown Yeast Wrangler members.
