We’re a team of 8 dedicated stylists and 1 esthetician specializing in all areas of hair and body care. We are J Beverly Hills colour educated with our owner being a colour educator herself. We offer haircuts for men, women and children, colouring, highlights, smoothing systems, perms, up-do’s and special occaision styles, waxing, eyelash extensions, spa pedicures and much more. History

Established in 2001.

My salon, Urban Fringe Salon Inc., is a family-​owned and operated business in Calgary’s northwest community of Silver Springs. You could say that hairstyling is in my blood. My grandmother and great-​grandmother we’re hairstylists and I’ve been in the hair industry for 29 years. It seemed only natural to open my own shop after 15 years in the industry. I opened the doors to Urban Fringe Salon Inc. in 2001 with only one stylist and now I have a team of 6 hairstylists, 2 apprentices and an esthetician. I opened Urban Fringe Salon Inc. to give myself and my co-​workers a positive work environment where we could be happy to come to work everyday. I think clients have a good feeling when they walk through our doors and can tell that there’s good energy in the salon. In fact, our clients comment on it fairly frequently. Our clients range from teenagers and families to grandmothers. I wouldn’t say we have a specific clientele.

I’ve been a hairstylist for 29 years and the owner of Urban Fringe Salon Inc. for 14 years. 5 years ago, I began a new venture in hairstyling and became a colour educator for J Beverly Hills. I teach other hairstylists about the colour line, including my own staff. Last year, my work was featured on the runway as an avant garde stylist where I showed hairstylists and salon owners from all around the globe what a Canadian Winter Warrior really is. I’ve been blessed in my life and career to love what I do.
