First time having Verns and I’ll be honest, the person who answered the phone which, taking into consideration was speaking English as their adopted language, got my address wrong, after I spelled it back to him, and again, and still somehow it was wrong. Which made my order take an extra 20 – 25 mins to get here, which made my pie become quite chilly. But, that aside, I hear some complaining on here about the price. And yes, compared to other places, lower pizza chains actually, it is quite more expensive. BUT the quality of ingredients, and quantity of said ingredients really doesn’t make a person feel ripped off. In fact, I am not normally partial to Calgary Pizza but Vern’s surprised me. High five Vern… whoever you are! We got the large Verns special, and two smallish pieces each and we were tapped out. I’m talking toppings! Anyways, if you are in the hood, give ol’Vern a go.

They always deliver at the perfect timing with the most savoury and exotic pizza sauce and thick and rich pizza I have ever tasted! I would recommend them to any and all pizza lovers, you will not be disappointed!

Victor’s review does not surprise me. Verns is a franchise, and because franchisee’s tend to get completely plundered by the company they represent, it is more lucrative to lose a $ 40/order/month customer instead of comp’ing a new pie. Sad. This place is EXPENSIVE, but you get a big thick pie with fresh ingredients. I am a big guy and can normally scoff down a medium pizza by myself after work. I got the large, and I had leftovers for two(2) days. I got the super spicy pizza and it was actually spicy(I have a high spice tolerance). The Jalapenos were FRESH(i.e. bright green instead of dark green) and I think the pizza put on too much spice just for the sake of putting on too much spice. But, whatevz, I’m just sayin’ that to compensate for my moment of spice-weakness. Get cheaper, and I’ll be forever loyal. Until then, this is a once-a-quarter luxury. And I don’t think that’s such a bad thing.
