Roadside 24 Bar & Grill

We’ve eaten here a few times and were pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the service has always been good. The the décor was cheap to say the least and the place seemed a bit on the dirty and dank side of things. But believe me if you can over look that you’ll have a great meal. Don’t let the location make you overlook this place.

This is one of the better places in Cambridge to get breakfast and is a bit under the radar. It’s located in front of the Super 8 on Hespeler Road, so I think most people don’t even give it a second look. Personally I have no patience for waiting at Fifty’s for weekend breakfast, so it’s great to go to Roadside 24 and be able to get a decent breakfast at a good price without waiting in line.
I usually get their breakfast special which is always good. The only issue I find is the inconsistency of their potatoes. I’ve found they pretty often change them up. They used to have homefries style which was my favourite, then more recently they seem to have gone to a chopped up fried potato. Not sure if that’s just different cooks, but it always struck me as odd not knowing what to expect.
My wife loves that they serve chocolate milk in bigger glasses than most restaurants. She usually gets the french toast, which has a pretty huge portion, or the eggs benedict.
