Great value. Nothing fancy but you’ll get clean rooms. Large suite with fridge and microwave. Comfy beds. Slept well. Thanks for accommodating our dog. We will stay here again.

Very helpful, friendly, nice employees. We stayed for 4 days and the rooms are clean. We didn’t use the spa or any thing else. There’s ample parking too.

It’s a fairly good priced hotel with a tiny pool, game room and a gym. Rooms are nice but could use an update and a new layout.

Writing this review is a little different for me than the reviews I usually write. My husband was in Canmore for business and I got to tag along with him. Because of this, we did not choose the hotel and it was paid for by someone else(so I don’t know the rate). We arrived at about 9pm. The lobby looked cozy and pretty nice. Check in went smoothly. The elevator was fairly slow. Upon first glance our room was nice, with a kitchen/dining area and living room(with gas fireplace) on the main floor, and then a huge king size bed in the loft area. There was also a bathtub, which I always appreciate. As we settled in a bit we realized just how unclean the room actually was. Who knows when the last time the room was vacuumed was. There was a dead fly on the stairs and a lighter under a chair in the living room. There were stains on the carpet by the door and some water marks and other marks on the dining table, coffee table and kitchen counter. We settled into bed for the night and were rudely awoken about seven times by the train, as the tracks are just beside the hotel parking lot. When I looked out the window the next morning, yup, there they were. It would have been nice to have been notified of this as I am an extremely light sleeper and had an awful sleep. We went to the grocery store the next day to buy our own ear plugs. I think it would be a nice gesture if they just provided them at the hotel free of charge as they obviously know the tracks are there. As part of the group we were staying with, we had meals provided to us by the hotel. Unfortunately, most of them were almost inedible to me. Note, this was not in the restaurant, but a buffet provided for our specific group. I’m not one to turn down free food, but we did go out and buy meals elsewhere a few times. We interacted with a few staff members, at the dining area and at the front desk. Some seemed miserable and some were nice. My husband got in the elevator once and there were two staff inside cleaning it. Rather than wait until he left the elevator, they started fogging it with aerosol spray. Not only does that seem unprofessional, but it was burning his eyes as well. I feel conflicted about this hotel. The room was large and had potential(fireplace, etc.), but the décor is old and rundown and the room wasn’t clean. Lobby was much nicer. The location is fine, but it’s where all of the other hotels in Canmore are so nothing about that really stands out. There is some parking available but it can get tight in the winter when people aren’t parking inside the lines. I wouldn’t not stay here again if there were a good rate, but I would certainly look elsewhere first.

A few years back, my family decided to go vacation in Alberta and we settled upon Canmore due to its location near Banff but close enough to Calgary to also be able to head there if we desired. Not that there’s anything wrong with Canmore itself. This hotel was our first impression, with a bit of the mountain lodge wood feel without being too ski lodge-like. A warm fireplace in the lobby and helpful and pleasant staff greeted us and were consistent throughout(what can I say, I like fire). The hotel is both close enough to the city to just walk in and close enough to the highway to be able to take off to Banff or Calgary for the day without needing to drive through the city. The room was more spacious than the city hotels to which I’m more accustomed, had the basic amenities, and was clean and comfortable. As mentioned by another reviewer, this hotel(as well as the majority of hotels in Canmore) is located rather close to train tracks, and I was frequently awoken to early morning trains.

I stayed here about 4 years ago. This time when I stayed, I don’t recall the room being so outdated. First of all, the lodging around here, Banff, etc will be high. You won’t have as many choices as other major cities, so you have to keep this in mind. Our room was stand, 2 beds, with a lit’ «kitchenette» that has a small frig, sink, coffee table and a couch and tv as well. I thought it was pretty big and you can have a few people live in these rooms. One down thing is we had a room along the train tracks so we heard the freight trucks going by. They dont have a set schedule and there may even have been a couple of them go by in the middle of the night. The restaurant in the bldg doesn’t have that many choices, so i suggest you go out to eat. THere is free wi fi which is great. No breakfast included but there is complimentary tea and coffee. There is a small kids’ pool and a hot tub, which we utilized. I saw alot of cabins there. I’m not sure how much they go but next time i’d check those out. If t he price is about the same, I may opt to go with a cabin instead as you have access to a full kitchen and it’d be more roomy and more comfortable.
