We were in Charlottetown this past September(twice actually) and just loved this place. Very cozy, great food and nice ambiance.

Great wait staff! Friendly and accommodating. We were with our dog and they found us a place to sit outside, and even brought to pooch water. The food. Insert sad face. It could have been so much better had someone in the kitchen learned how not to over salt and cook the shit out of everything. The burgers were hockey pucks, eh. Free wifi.

Great food and very cheap! their gluten-free menu is lacking though. I asked for everything on my nachos and they didn’t put olives on it.

Great food and great drink menu. If you go upstairs it’s a awesome lounge and at nights is a great party spot. I’ll be back

Had a great experience. Our server(Mere) was a total sweetheart, service is fast and portions are priced accordingly(huge portions, low prices). We ended to coming on wing night($ 0.25/wing!) and while the price was great, the wings were puny. Next time I’d go for the $ 0.40 option, but we were so hungry we just went with the price that was on the sign. Overall, great time, good vibe. This was my first trip to PEI and I’m definitely pleased with Hunter’s.

This seems like a fun place to catch some live music. We were here for PEI Music Week so we went to a show at Hunters. Really fun.

Great service in a popular downtown location near the newspaper and power company office. This has been a favorite of ours for decades. The portions are always big but the food can be uneven. Grilled haddock was much too greasy but the baked potato was right on. She had the 6 oz. steak sandwich — the steak was good but not great. The mashed potatoes were old and not mashed. They replaced them with fresh. Service is very good and the selection of beers is more than adequate for a pub. Weekend entertainment has the best names going through Charlottetown although the time(11 pm usually) is tailored to the younger set or those who don’t get up in the morning.

Best Cajun chicken nachos around. Haven’t found anything in my hometown of Halifax, NS that can compare yet! Nice atmosphere, huge food portions and friendly service. Check it out!

We found ourselves in downtown Charlottetown hungry and in need of a patio on a warm summer evening in July. Hunter’s fit the bill in every single way. The service was prompt and helpful and the food was absolutely perfect — both in portion size, value for the money spent and in flavour. Be warned though — everything is «super sized» here :-) Case in point: 1) my «large» draft beer could have easily been a pitcher elsewhere and 2) the«cup» of chowder is an overflowing bowl elsewhere My dining companion ordered the seafood chowder and raved at how full of seafood it was and how tasty it was. They also ordered the sweet potato fries which was a huge basket of them. Sadly the chowder was so filling not many of the fries were consumed. I ordered the butter chicken which came served over basmati rice with naan AND a side order of fries. Absolutely delicious! There was absolutely no room for dessert after a meal of this size and we left wishing we could eat every meal there on our trip.

WE loved this place – talk about local color. First, there is the flower bedecked patio. There were not a lot of over 50 y.o. patrons but we were not the only ones. My Cosmo was fun and $ 5.25! The«surf and turf» lobster dinner had the sweetest most tender lobster we have had on PEI – small but mighty. The steak was awful – tasted like liver. Ask for anything else with the lobster dinner. The baked potatoes were as special as we heard they could be on PEI and we gobbled them up. The salad bar was small but good – two soups on offer. The lumberjack one was a meal in itself. We sat next to a table of local college students and enjoyed hearing their advice to each other on passing exams. Around 9 pm, some games started and we were sorry we had plans elsewhere. Try to get Stephanie’s table, she is so cute and such a wonderful server to find in this kind of place – a real treat.

A great Charlottetown watering hole. Service is second to none, when your beer is getting close to empty, your server(or another from nearby) will by to ask if you’re ready for another. Very often a busy spot. Popular trivia on Thursdays, the same guy has been running it for years, and he’s pretty good. There’s beer and appetizers to be won. I’ve haven’t had a meal there, only apps, but the food could use a bit of improvement, the nachos lacked cheese and everything was sort of just dumped on top, and the wings were small and bit overcooked. If it wasn’t for that, I’d be giving 5 stars.

This place was recommended to us by the front desk worker at our hotel(Rodd Charlottetown). We were intrigued because it wasn’t actually one we had seen in our wanderings around town earlier that day. Well, it turned out to be a good choice, and apparently one that every other Charlottetowner(?) made that evening because it was super busy when we arrived. There was a group of 4 – 5 guys in front of us and a group of 10 that came behind us! We had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, which I thought was quite fast considering. What everyone else says about the portions here are true — they are huge! I ordered a pint of beer, and be forewarned that pints here are actually 25 oz(I think in most other places they are more like 18). If you don’t often drink beer, you may want to order another size! I was shocked when they were brought to the table and saw the size of the mugs! We ordered fish and chips(Two for one on Fridays! Great deal) and the plates were also huge! I could only eat about half my fries because the piece of fish was really large. Unfortunately the fish was a little overcooked — the batter was really crispy and bites fell apart easily which was annoying. The fish meat itself was good though, not dry. Plus, this dish is obviously popular on Fridays because of the deal, so it makes sense that pieces probably stay on/in the fryer a bit too long sometimes. Considering how busy it was, the service and food was good. All in all, a good pub experience — nothing special but not bad either! Can’t beat the prices and portions!

This is the place to go if you you’re starving and looking for huge portions of food and beer. I ordered the fried scallops and shrimp with mashed potatoes and expected maybe a mound or two of the spuds but got 4 scoops! My friend got the same so I knew they didn’t make a mistake. The menu is very long, so the only problem here might be deciding what you’d like to eat. We took a long time to decide because there were so many tasty-sounding dishes there. The draft beer comes in a few different sizes and they have a selection of bottled beers too. The night we were there, they had trivia night, so if you’re into sort of thing, this place is for you!
