Love this place… perfectly poured Guinness, and great food. Most of the waitstaff are really good, except one,(keep that to myself), vibe is great !

I grew up not far from the Olde Orchard in NDG on Monkland and I can truly say, their newest establishment in Chateauguay more than lives up to the«Ye Olde Orchard Pub & Grill» standard. First of all, the pub is in a 200 year old building, which only adds a little something something to the spot. My wife and I went on St-Patrick’s day(they had only opened 4 days earlier) and we were greeted and asked how many we were going to be. We were told we could wait at either of the bars and someone would come and get us in about 20 minutes. About 20 minutes later, the host came over, asked me if the table that was available was to my liking and we were seated. The food was great. We shared 1 pound of wings over beers, and my wife had a burger and I had the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked. Nice and crispy and not dripping in oil. As for the fries, I always look ask myself if they would make good poutine fries in a pinch. These certainly were up to the task. Soft on the inside, crunch on the outside. The only small blemish I had, was there was no Smithwick’s or Kilkenny available. As I don’t drink Guinness(to heavy for me), I went with an Alexander Keith’s. One thing to note, I found the food to be slightly under salted. Which to me is not a problem, as I find most pubs/bars over salt their food to get you to order more drinks. I prefer being able to add salt if I want to; but some might find this to be a problem. I look forward to going back sooner, rather than later.
