The Comox Air Force Museum displays the history of 19 Wing and the heritage of military aviation on the west coast of Canada. The Museum has a main gallery of exhibits, an aviation art gallery, an aviation reference library and a Heritage Air Park with eleven static aircraft on display. The Museum is also in partnership with Vintage Wings of Canada in the restoration of a Mark IX Spitfire. Stop by the Museum and request a tour of this restoration project. The Museum also has a Gift Shop where you can purchase all your aviation souvenirs and memorabilia.

History

Established in 1987.

The Museum started as an extension of the Canadian Air Force’s «Air Force Indoctrination Course». Artifacts were brought in or donated to help the new recruits understand the heritage of their profession. These artifacts grew to a collection that then became the Comox Air Force Museum when it opened in Building 11 in September of 1987.
