Hate to give a doctor a one-star rating, but what else can I do with a misdiagnosis? Review is under a different name. I went in last Saturday, July 25, as I had damaged the arch in my right foot. I explained to the doctor that I was a very active hiker and trail runner, and had been in pain for about two weeks, and although it had been improving I had injured it again a couple of days prior. I explained that I had gone swimming, and when I dived off the edge into the pool, I thought I felt something ‘tear’ in my arch(it was excruciating) and the next day the arch was purple. I showed my foot to him– he did not even bend down, never mind touch it or examine it– simply said ‘it’s plantar fasciitis’ and told me to rub Arnica on it to get rid of the bruising, and said I’d be fine in two weeks. Of course, I’d been researching arch pain online, and really didn’t think he was correct– I had been on crutches since the ‘tear’, the symptoms didn’t really fit, and I just really felt it was more serious. So the next day I spent 6 hours in the emergency at Eagle Ridge hospital to see someone. The ER doc,(who was AWESOME), after examining my purple, swollen arch, doing a manual examination including pressing on the affected area and an x-ray, agreed that it was not plantar fasciitis, and gave me a referral to see a sports medicine specialist as I had likely torn the ligament a bit and there could also be a tiny fracture in my foot. She said I would be lucky to walk normally within three weeks and it would be at least three months before I can run again.(Hoping I can resume with no problems after healing). So I’m left with a very bad impression of the doctor at Care Point– the fact that he did not even touch my foot still pisses me off. If I had not taken it upon myself to get another opinion, I could have worsened my injury. UPDATE– Dec 102015 It’s now been over four months, and my foot is still not healed. Because as it turns out, I did indeed tear my plantar fascia. The doctor at Allan McGavin Sports Med at UBC sent me for an ultrasound. Current prognosis is another 4 – 6 months before I am healed and ready to resume my former activity level. Seriously– the doctor at this Carepoint clinic was an idiot.

I recently had a very negative experience at the Care Point Medical Clinic at the Coquitlam Centre Mall. I currently do not have a family doctor, so I go to this clinic for medical attention. I received a call from the receptionist that they have received my blood test results. I was in the clinic the very next day to see any doctor on duty. After waiting 2 hours, Dr. Kevin Nolan came into the room. The first thing came out of his mouth was, «why are you not seeing the other Dr who saw you originally?» I replied that I only came because my blood test results were in and would like to know. He glanced at the results and said, it’s all good and proceeded to leave the room. I stopped him outside the room as he was about to enter another room to see his next patient. I said I’m not done and still have more questions. He said next time I should see the other Dr. I reminded him that his is a walk-in clinic and he’s the Dr on duty and it doesn’t matter who I saw. He disregarded what I said and entered the next room. All this took place in less than 3 minutes. This man has no business or customer service sense at all. Dr. Kevin Nolan is a terrible doctor.

Was on vacation here when I came down with something awful in my throat. I couldn’t swallow and my voice was going. I looked up walk in clinics. I found this one online, called it to make sure they could get me in. I arrive and wait 45 minutes, a little longer than I was promised on the phone but whatever. I notice the clinic seems a little run down. I go in the back to an exam room. No vitals are taken. The doctor takes a quick look in my throat, makes some comments about how bad it looks, writes me a prescription and sends me on my merry way. No vitals were taken the entire time. He swabbed my throat and instructed me to take the sample to the lab myself. It seems he was probably right in his intuition, the meds helped and I am feeling better. What needs to be worked on here is janitorial and with the allied health staff. It was super gross to see someone else’s foam cup sitting on top of the base for the light used to look inside people’s ears and mouths.

The worst! It’s actually a WellPoint clinic now. Went here, waited for 30 minutes for it to open. No sign on the window, no message on their answering service, just closed for the day!
