This place is really awful. I should have figured when I first came here. The shop was shuttered well before closing time for the rest of the mall with just a half-hearted«be back at 8:20» sign taped on the front of the gate. I couldn’t tell if that meant the next morning or later that evening. I was there around 7:45pm and the mall was to close at 9pm. I decided to hang around and came back around 8:10 and waited. When a young girl came back carrying her Starbucks and looking for all the world like she didn’t care that there were customers waiting in front of the gate(another woman was standing with me at this point with a bag full of boots), I wondered and couldn’t help asking if she was the one who’d be fixing my boots. I don’t mean to be judgmental but I have yet to see young girls as shoemakers — not that I think it’s a bad idea — but at least not one looking so uncaring. My past experiences at shoe repair shops have generally been pleasant and I’ve always appreciated the good advice and tips I’d be given. Not with this one however. The girl replied that someone else would be fixing the boots. I was a bit relieved although I was also disappointed I couldn’t ask the person directly about the condition of my boots. I had one pair that I wasn’t sure was worth fixing. The girl told me it was not so I took her word for it and just left my brown high boots for a regular heel fill($ 25). I also asked if I could leave the shopping bag that I brought them in as it had a good handle and fit the boots perfectly and she said fine. Less than a week later I came back to pick up the boots and the same girl came out from behind the store with not a hint of recognition on her unenthusiastic face. I had trouble finding my ticket and had to rummage around for a bit while she stood impatiently watching me. After I handed her the ticket, she came back with my boots stuffed in an unfamiliar dirty plastic bag. As we took out my boots to examine, I was surprised at how dirty and creased they were. Other than the fixed heels, the boots were definitely not in the condition I brought them in. I had cleaned the boots not long before I brought them in to be fixed — that was when I had noticed the heels. The girl responded that it must have been soot from the machine. I asked if she would mind helping me clean them(since it was technically their fault they got so dirty) and was surprised when she just brushed at my boots with her bare hands instead of using proper shoe cleaners. As I requested a more proper cleaning, she took them to the back and returned a few moments later with the boots not looking much better. I gave up and then inquired about the bag I brought my boots in and she looked at me blankly. After asking me to describe the bag and unsuccessfully locating it, she directed me to go to the back of the store and look for it myself. I went to the back to find it stuffed in a corner behind some waste. After I returned home, I tried to clean my boots more thoroughly only to find out that the machine marks and the creases are impossible to remove. I’ve been to many shoe repair places over the years and this has got to be one of the most unprofessional. I would not recommend coming here.
