Food wasn’t very good, waitresses were great. I had steak. It was a bad cut, very fatty. The strawberry shortcake was good, but nothing special. Food came out pretty quickly.

Great Food, fast service and fantastic staff. I had their Fish and Chips… the seasoned batter was great, later that day I had the pan fried halibut and it was great too. Prices are fantastic and if you order off the specials menu its cheaper than fast food and 100 times better! Total Fan!!!

I find it odd that we’ve stayed across the way so many times and never popped in here… Well today was the day and I’m glad we did. We had a quick break from meetings and decided to go to Maggie’s for lunch. We ordered the Salt Cod fish cakes and they came with delicious beans, carrots and turnips, stir fried veggies, a home made rhubarb relish and a delicious biscuit… all for $ 7.50! What a steal! From looking at the menu it seems like a great sot for that home cooking feeling. The owner was there and came by to ask us how everything was and tel us a little bit about the place. We will definitely be back on our neck Island trip!

This is a popular spot at this end of time. Can be quite crowded on Saturday and Sunday mornings so be forewarned! They recently stopped serving breakfast after 11 a.m. … Disappointing for those who want to do some running around first and then stop by for a leisurely breakfast. Their breakfast is really quite decent and I quite like the staff who wait on you. The owner is ever present and is trying to engage with his customers. He makes the effort to not have anyone standing around waiting for a table. I am not a big fan of their coffee(the Mother Parker blah stuff!). I am stunned that so many local restaurants have such sub par coffee. Nothing would make a restaurant stand out among their competition in town more than a really full bodied cup of coffee to start the day. I am not singling out Maggie’s here — Cora’s, for example, has really awful coffee which I now refuse to order and Smitty’s is just barely potable. Reminds me of US restaurants from 10 years ago who served coffee to the patrons as an afterthought. That has really changed(think Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks and Tully’s!). If Macdonalds has upped its game with respect to coffee, surely the rest can see that there is a great consumer demand for quality and variety in coffee offerings! Actually, Macdonalds is now in the top three with respect to best coffee in town. And there is no excuse for serving lukewarm coffee! Improve the coffee, get another star!
