I don’t care for Kosher. So this IGA is ridiculously overpriced on almost every product.

A big IGA that is clean with great choices. A kosher section with a lot of choices, they closes at 9pm week days. Though take note, closes at 5pm on Saturdays– I walked in at 4:50 and was not let in, I’m not complaining but wrote this just to be prevent you from the disappointment or inconvenience I had, thought there is another huge IGA five minutes away on Cote St. Luc road!

IGA is the staple of Montréal grocery stores. Its got all the products you need at prices only 10−20% higher than I pay normally in Texas.

I’m ashamed that a Texan got the first review for my former local grocery store. Good job, Alan. This IGA, now renovated and enlarged, is still a good grocery in that it’s clean, always well stocked, and had good fresh fruits and veggies. This IGA is Kosher-central in general, but more so around the Jewish holidays. They don’t disappoint, carrying all the specialized name brands that you’ve come to love, especially at the time of year where the food typically tastes like cardboard. Still, that’s not this IGA’s fault. All in all, I can’t fault the prices because while they are higher than most places, their specials are at or below the average for Montréal. Flyers are clear, and if you’re like me and scan for sales before buying, you generally get a nice well-rounded diet over the course of the month — all while saving $$$. That works for me. As groceries go, this one works just fine.
