The food was superb! I had the baked enchilada with roasted chicken. My wife had the burrito. Both were very, very good. This was our second trip in and both visits were great. This is easily the best restaurant I’ve been at in the last 8 years.

The menu gives great options. The service was fantastic-professional and never missed a beat. The food was absolutely delicious-well prepared, very fresh ingredients, and plated well.

Had the ham focaccia and pulled pork burrito for takeout. Both were excellent. Definitely worth a visit in Courtenay.

Delicious Chili Chicken Burritos – hot and HUGE. Everything was fresh and tasty. Kitchen was very accommodating about my daughters’ special orders(no onion, no salsa, no guacamole, etc). My only complaint was for the hostess, who had an eye-rolly, disaffected manner. We felt we should be apologizing about making her show us to a table. Otherwise, really great lunch.

We dined outside with our golden retriever and the wait staff was really nice about it. They even filled the water bowl for her. We had the inari wrap appetizer to start. For entrees, I had the falafel wrap(they let me order from the lunch menu) and my BF had the large pulled pork burrito. The inari was super good. It was filled with smoked salmon, peas, shredded carrots, and rice. It was so flavorful! The falafel wrap was good but a little dry, since both the whole wheat wrap and falafel were on the dry side. The large pulled pork burrito is crazy big and is meant to be shared, so order a small. Service was courteous and quick. A great place to dine.

Very friendly staff but service was quite slow. We loved the Inari pockets and the peach and pear sangria was delicious. The main courses including the quesadilla special were unfortunately rather forgettable.

This place is sooooo good. We all had mexican dishes and they were excellent. I will definitely be back here again soon so I can try out more items.

Atlas Café is so delicious(not to mention great service) that we came here two nights in a row while visiting from San Francisco and Portland(OR), two foodie cities. Not sure I need to say more! Don’t miss it if you are in Courtenay. It’s been here for 20 years apparently and still feels like a fresh concept. We are told in the summer there is a line out the door.

Awesome that they are conscious of gluten free, and I felt confident they actually knew what gluten free meant. Great food– I had the enchilada with corn tortilla and pulled pork. Only downside was it was a bit tough to cut, but looked and tasted fabulous. They know how to make a mean Caesar as well(the drink). Crème brûlée wasn’t the best I’ve had but was enjoyable. Very attentive service as well. Would come back again!

Love this place. Been coming here since I was about 19, and every time I am back in the valley I make it a point to stop in. I crave the quesadillas on a regular basis and am coming back soon for more! Only thing I have ever had here that I did not care for was a french kiss champagne cocktail that had too much raspberry pulp and was more bitter than I am used to. Other than that one small thing it has always been great!

Great service, good food. I had the Angela burger. Pears, Brie & Bacon. Pretty tasty. He had the ribs. Said they could have been a better cut(all tiny bones) & could have used more sauce. Came here for brunch last year(live on the mainland) and I remember it being a place to put on the list to come back to(for breakfast).

Always good, one of the go to restaurants in downtown Courtenay. The place has a funky vibe to it and you never leave disappointed with the food quality.

Awesome food. Fish tacos are the best on the island. Burgers are great. Tons of food options. Always fresh local ingredients. Great use of salmon in their dishes.

It was the first option to pop up for Vegan food in Courtenay. There wasn’t many options. I had the vegan plate. It was decent. Lots of options for people who aren’t on a plant based diet though.

For casual dining the Atlas is our all time favorite spot when we visit this part of the Island. We just ate there three times in three days and every meal was fabulous. Our only problem is deciding what to have as everything is yummy, prepared with such care and attention and showcasing the bounty of the Comox Valley. We especially love the tacos both fish and short rib versions, the tuna tataki salad in pappadam bowl, huevos rancheros, the list goes on and on. The icing on the cake is the great staff who are personable and accommodating no matter how busy this popular place gets. We will be back as often as we can!

Great local spot. Ate the Ham Sandwich with curry lentil soup and it was unreal. In house baked focacia bread with local ham and lots of cheese and veggies made this sandwich feel like one of the best deluxe grilled cheese I’ve ever had. The staff is so friendly at the Atlas, easy listening music and nice décor sets a good atmosphere for any meal. Will obviously return and highly recommended.

Once again Unilocal recommended a gem! What a cozy little restaurant. I’m in town in business having never been here before and it was perfect. It was pretty busy on a Thursday evening but I was lucky enough to get a window seat. I selected the local salmon dish from the daily specials menu — perfect! I highly recommend!

Excellent food and service. I do not give out 5 stars often but this place deserves it. It addresses 5 impossible categories: 1) great food(selection, quantity and quality), 2) great service, 3) great price, 4) great location(easy to find and park), and 5) great ambience. I think the ambience was a lacking a bit but it was compensated by the food. I had brunch here with my family and everyone loved it and it was not expensive. Burrito with short rib was $ 8.75 for small order but was more than enough for lunch. It was packed with slow roasted and hand pulled lean short rib beef that just melts in your mouse along with yam and beans. My mom had eggs benedict topped with blue crab meat and shrimp with hollandaiae sauce. It came with pan fried seasoned potatoes and bountiful of fresh and diverse fruits for $ 12! The food was prepared and presented delicately. It is the food you would find in high end restaurants in big cities — how do they make money? I heard a great review for their wild salmon burger and will try it next time I am here.
