I’ve enjoyed the lunch special here on several occasions. Fresh, well prepared, and flavorful.
The special is a small panini sandwich (changes regularly) and a choice of 2 fresh soups.
Today it was ham and Brie with gazpacho.
The portion is excellent for a good lunch without being stuffed. The sandwich was nice, the gazpacho was excellent. Crunchy, fresh, and perfect for a hot day.
And, $ 12 price tag. Beat that.

This reeiw is just for the cheese, which we got to take out. We got two of the local Hilary’s cheeses, one was a blue cheese, which had a very delicate flavour. The other was for a Anne? Catherine? cheese. Whatever it was, it tasted wonderful. I would be happy to go back to Cowichan Bay to get more cheese, paired with the excellent bread from the bakery next door.

Not just a cheese shop but a little café. I frequent this place for my fill of cheese when I arrive on Vancouver Island. The Hillary Blue Cheese is local and amazing. Not to strong but super creamy. I highly suggest you give it a shot. You can get all your picnic items here and go next door for the bread and life will just be great! Bring back some local cheese to your loved ones in the states or wherever you are returning to after your visit to beautiful BC.
