History

Established in 1980.

Diesel and Auto Electric Limited has been providing service to Nova Scotians for 34 years since its founding in 1980 by Charles «Bas» McManus and Norman Melanson. Entering the market as a specialty electrical and HD turbo repair shop, the two men had a strong reputation in their industry for being among the finest in their field. Word spread quickly of their venture, and the electrical service business grew rapidly and branched into electrical parts retailing by 1988. Now the two men who began the business together found themselves selling batteries, alternators and starters as a compliment to their service work. In the mid 1990’s, Diesel and Auto Electric Limited established an auto parts division that would rival many local parts stores. Now Diesel and Auto Electric Limited began offering many leading auto parts brands thanks to alliances with ACDelco and Uni-​Select. We are proud to sell quality auto parts combined with the knowledge the customer depends on.
