Bang on egg salad sandwiches(my personal fave but they’re all good!) and the daily soups are homestyle perfection. The lovely ladies preparing these delicious bites have even arranged my veggie sticks upon my sandwich in a smiley face numerous times, I love little surprises like this and it totally makes my day every time! :-) Gems like Our Thyme are what makes downtown Dartmouth so amazing, highly recommended if you like awesome lunches!

A cute little café… you can grab a bite there or take your food to go. My favourite thing about the place is their grilled veggie paninis — SO good.

I love this place! I work within a 5 minute walk and have made my way on a few occasions of not having time to pack my own lunch. Today was a ginger molasses cookie and I was not disappointed(and have never been for that matter). This cookie is bursting with flavor and made JUSTTHEWAY I LIKEIT :) Other items I have sampled from Our Thyme: the ham and cheese sandwich on ww bread. It was delicious. Very creamy, smooth, and again, lots of flavor! I have also had the egg salad on ww– this seems to be an office favorite as a few of my other coworkers often get that one as well. It is also very delicious– put together fabulously and flavorful. I havent had a chance to have breakfast here yet, however a friend of mine often indulges and always boasts how delicious it is. Service is EXCELLENT here — the ladies always have smiles, are very pleasant and very quick at filling your order. Of course, one must note the valiant cause behind this quaint little spot. This certainly lends to the awesomeness of this place and the women just thrive in there. Definitely a «hidden gem» that I encourage others to check out. Thanks a bunch ladies– until next time :)

I really love what this place stands for. The Elizabeth Fry Society runs Our Thyme as a way to offer jobs to women who are getting back on their feet. It’s just a small spot, not too much seating. They have soup and sandwich options for lunch and I really enjoyed my meal which was brought out promptly. The service was friendly and the café was clean, I will definitely come back, as I really enjoyed my lunch with a friend here through the week. Definitely check out Our Thyme if you are working or living in Dartmouth and are looking for lunch.

Visited here for the first time today and I will definitely return. Pleasantly surprised upon entering — it was nicely decorated with good tables and all very clean and service was friendly. My friend and I both enjoyed the Breakfast Bun which had egg, cheese, bacon and tomato with a sweet mayo on an English Muffin — there were options of other breads as well. It was very good — perhaps the best Breakfast Bun I have ever had and I have sampled a few as I love breakfast and especially love when it is all in a bun. I also got a latte which was pretty good and considering the price of $ 2.50 for a latte, it was great . Love the cause too — it is wonderful. The baked goods looked good but will need to try them another time.

I really enjoyed my first visit to Our Thyme Café and instantly became a fan once i bit into my soft and crunchy ginger molasses cookie and took the first sip of my warm and relaxing soy cappuccino. It’s such a shame that this place probably gets over looked because of the«non-café looking» front of the building. I believe that what they are representing is great and respectable. I really recommend this hidden Dartmouth gem to coffee lovers and bakery fanatics like myself. Don’t let the face of the building fool you, this is a great little café.

The greatest challenge that Our Thyme faces is their rather uninviting storefront. When I think of cafes, I tend to imagine ground-level, big glass windows possibly with outdoor seating. I lived nearby for a year before I even realized it was a café. But once you get past the front door, you will be pleased. A surprisingly large menu of deliciousness that I’ve only barely sampled because I only ever make a beeline directly for the baked goods which are of course fantastic and may cause you to have a major sugar rush but in a good way but which may not be good when you’re trying to write a review. Prices are also very good; you can grab a good lunch for a great price. Do note the hours, however: they close at 2 any day they’re open so it’s definitely a breakfast/lunch place.

Our Thyme Café is located on the downtown Dartmouth end of Portland Street, just where the road rises over the hill. Situated inside an airy corner spot, the café boasts a varied menu that carries almost anything your heart could desire. Fresh sandwiches and paninis grace the main menu side, with salads facing. Plenty of coffees and teas are available, as are fresh fruit smoothies. And the display case at the front counter features all sorts of delectable offerings, from giant-sized chocolate chip cookies to carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I stopped into Our Thyme Café today. It’s a little farther from my office than I usually like to venture, but the trip was well worth it. I had the turkey and swiss panini with a spinach salad. The panini was fresh and crispy(although it was on bread, not a flatbread — disappointing!) with additions of tomato, lettuce and a light layer of sweet mayo. The spinach salad was generously dressed with bacon, a little less cheese and plenty of egg and onion. The poppyseed dressing was delicious. I would definitely go back to Our Thyme Café, as much for the food as for the benefits to society. The café is an outreach of the Elizabeth Fry society, finding work placements for women in transition from prison to everyday life.

Our Thyme Café is different from most Café’s you have been in. This Café was developed because of the Elizabeth Fry Society. In short this Café helps women and youth who are in need of some help getting back on their feet. It allows them the opportunity for education in this field, with the goal of full-time employment. I gave them A Five Star because of what they represent. Now back to the actual café, it is new and clean, has all homemade items to choose from, mostly sandwiches and soups. They make smoothie’s as well and have some fantastic looking cookies. They do catering as well, so if you are looking for someone, stop by here and support.
