I am both a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist as well as a DONA trained and Certified Birth Doula.

As a Doula, I will support your birth choices — whether at home or at hospital — and I will keep your birth space calm and safe so you can turn your focus inward to reach the emotional and mental place you need to be, to birth your baby. I am familiar and have experience with pregnancy, labour and birth of mothers over 40 (AMA) as well as all ages underneath.

As a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist (CPES), I have received face to face training in all aspects of Placenta Encapsulation, I have my Certificate from the Provincial Government for Food Safety as well as my Certificate from Biologix for Blood Borne Pathogens for Midwives, Doulas and Placenta Encapsulation Specialists. I adhere to strict guidelines set forth by OSHA.

History

Established in 2012.

After doing extensive research on ways to prevent postpartum depression and how to enhance those first few postpartum weeks, I came across Placenta Encapsulation. After talking to many mothers who had had their placentas encapsulated, I was convinced about the benefits. After completing many, many encapsulations and following up with each new Mum, I am even more convinced of the benefits.

I believe in providing ways to naturally support and assist each woman ease in to their role as a mother, be it the first or fourth time. I have received amazing feed back from the mothers who have chosen placenta encapsulation as part of their postpartum journey and am always so excited to hear how they are doing a few weeks in and what role encapsulation played in their healing: increased energy, balanced mood, abundant milk supply and an overall feeling of well being and happiness are the most commonly reported.

The placenta really is perfect after birth.

Business Owner

Raised in Bermuda, I spent a few years traveling through Europe and America before arriving in Canada in 1987.

My passion for pregnancy and birth began before I can remember. Growing up, I knew that above anything else, I wanted to be a mother. I have the privilege of having four incredible sons — two in their twenties and two little ones, ages 3 and 5. I have been attending births since 1994; I am so fortunate to do what I love and to be able to meet some truly inspiring women.

In addition to being a mother, I am also a DONA Certified Birth Doula as well as a Certified Placenta Encapsulation Specialist through Full Circle. I see birth as a defining moment in a woman’s life and endeavour to provide the best support in order for a woman to have a successful and positive birthing experience.
