Good old fashion fish & chips and the best wings in town.

Travelling through Canada during the xmas holidays, I found myself in this town of Dundas. I have had fish and chips all over the world. Some good, some not so good and now Frosty’s would find themselves in a category all their own — horrible! Yes, the fish is wrapped in newspaper and there were plenty of fries. HOWEVER, plenty of fries doesn’t mean good fries, and these are not good. They are not crispy, they are soggy, they do not have a fresh cut flavor, like a Five Guys fry or In N Out. The fries are not the biggest problem. From a place that declares itself to make fish and chips, one would expect that they can do it right. If one assumes that, they are making a huge mistake. Frosty’s offers you Halibut, Haddock, Cod or Whitefish. I opted for the Halibut. Frosty offers it at «market price.» What market? A sok in Istanbul? My belief is that he says this to artificially inflate the price on a frozen piece of fish the Gorton’s Fisherman caught. The halibut was white and somewhat flaky, but more«tough» than tender. The most disturbing aspect was the coating. It was soggy. It was not a beer batter. It was not a panko crust, just a plain, soggy, no flavor batter that did nothing to enhance the overpriced fish or justify me being there. Canada still has the Queen on their money but the fine art of making fish and chips didn’t cross the ocean, or if it did, it didn’t make it to Frosty’s. The packets of vinegar and tartar sauce did nothing to add to the atmosphere. I have to believe there are better establishments in this area of Canada that serve a decent fish and chip. Look for them. This is not worth the effort or the $ 13.00 he is charging for the order.
