History

Established in 1997.

In the early 1990s, a group of young men were working in retail sales and service in the Edmonton, Alberta, spa industry, selling a local product called Koko Beach. Darcy Amendt, Jordan Beasley, James and John Keirstead, Dennis Kellner, and Brent Macklin had all grown up on farms or in small rural communities in western Canada, and through one means or another had wound up working with hot tubs. There was no way of knowing that from this rustic background would come one of the fastest-growing companies in Canada.

Following a series of financial issues, ownership changes, and reorganizations, in 1994 the production side of Koko Beach became Blue Falls Manufacturing. Three years later, on Feb. 15, 1997, the six partners bought the company and assumed control.
