I go here every few months to get my eyebrows threaded. The do a great job, and the price is perfect. Quick and easy, works for me!

I will never go back here! I came in for a full leg wax and I thought everything was great, but NO! When they asked me to lay on my stomach so that the two ladies can wax the back of thighs and calves, all of a sudden right when the younger lady have put some wax and the cloth on my inner back thigh to pull the wax off, It felt as if I had just gotten the top layer of my skin off. Both inner thighs were feeling as if the skin just got ripped off so hard that it was stinging. At first, I thought everything was fine but minutes later when I was oiling my legs from the wax residue (which they didn’t even clean up properly!) Both areas looked so red and inflamed! Days went on and I felt this irritation on my inner thighs. Just what I thought, they had burned my legs from ripping off the wax too aggressively and from the super hot wax they used. Now, I can’t even keep my thighs close together when walking because it rubs together and it hurts so much!!! So if you want to go have yourself get burnt by wax! Go right ahead! but I will never come back here ever again!!! They have ruined my legs for life! Funny cause right when she pulled the wax, she knew that it had hurt me so she even said «I’m so sorry» and right after the session, that younger lady was out of the room and was no where near my sight because she knew she had damaged my skin.
NEVER EVER going back here again!!! They don’t even deserve my one star!

Completely ruined my brows, went here from a recommendation cause I’m from out of town. I already have a nice defined shape that I love, the lady completely disregarded my shape and made them super thin! I hate them, and have a wedding to attend next weekend.

Worst place to go for facials! Have one or maybe two people working in the entire place who rush through the job! And have no
Customer service! They do terrible jobs for facials and my friend said they did a terrible job on her hair not even what she was looking for. Will never go back there

I get my brows threaded here when I want a cheap place to go nearby. It’s only $ 5! They do a decent job for the price. Of course, it doesn’t last as long and isn’t a luxury treatment. The girls here are efficient, friendly, but don’t really take any time to get to know you. I like this place when I want a quick fix!

I always seem to have the worst luck; I visit the places with great reviews and don’t like it. I guess I’m just pretty picky!
Anyway, I visited Bella Tonic Spa exactly three times months ago (maybe a year or more ago). I went twice for eyebrows, and once for full face. I have to go in the evenings, since I live on the north side and have work. It was crazy busy all three times, but I managed to find a seat while waiting for my turn. The lady doing my brows rushed through them and took literally 3 minutes to finish. I looked in the mirror and was pretty disappointed that they were uneven, untrimmed, and had several hairs not removed. I told her about all three things, and she just looked at me confused. The one time I got my full face threaded was worse. Once again, it took her a few minutes, and there was A LOT of hair patches everywhere (I sound like I’m a gorilla, but I swear I’m not).
I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, and went there two more times. Same problems.
Its not worth the drive for me, or the price. I like my brows to be trimmed and clean, and my face to be almost hairless. If you’re not too picky about your eyebrows/​facial hair, give them a try. If you’re like me, then I wouldn’t recommend it.

I love this place! Thread my brows and upperlip for only 10 $ It was quick and fast. If you have high pain tolerance like me threading isn’t so bad. The lady did ask me if she could wax my upper lip, which I found it weird because they mentioned that threading is the better alternative because it doesn’t damage your skin, but I insisted on getting it threaded. She told me threading would be more painful, but after it was done, it wasn’t even that bad. The owner was really sweet, she asked if it was bothering me, so i said yeah, just a little, and she gave me some soothing lotion and an icepack to put on it. SO YEAH! I RECOMMEND BELLA TONIC FOR THREADING UR BROWS AND UPPERLIP.

This place is open on Sundays! Sunday is the only day I get off.
I took my friend for a day at the spa and it was nice for them to open up early just for us.
I’m going to start with my experience.. I booked for a microdermsbrasion but the lady talked me into a lumi facial, she says it’s only a little bit more so I said yes let’s try it (found out at the till it was twice as much!). It started off ok, facial massage with the micro was a bit painful but I was expecting that (lotion went in my mouth and she was very rough with the massage). Then came the lights of the lumi, omg it was like bright strobe lights non stop for 45 minutes! You have eye covers and your eyes closed but you can still see the crazy bright light strobe for so long!!! It was like going to a crazy dance club with a migraine but not being able to hear anything but faint tropical music, for 45 minutes that seemed it lasted 5 hours. The esthetician told me she had a Brazillian wax and she will come back (ugh yuck don’t tell me that because I know you are going to touch my face after…), she came to check on me twice and I asked on the second time when am I done because I’m going crazy! She laughed and said 27 mins left. Holy moly I was in hell.
Finally the whole thing stopped and she didn’t come back for another 10 mins so I pushed the machine aside and sat up because I swear I was going to vomit.
She came eventually and gave me a mask and left me for another 30 mins.
Ok I don’t like laying down for 2 hours unless I’m sleeping or having a 1.5 HR massage.
After she removed my mask and wiped my face I left and was done (thank god). I came out and my friend who had a mani pedi &facial was done at the same time as me, said she loved it and had a great time so I was happy that she had a wonderful experience.
I had a headache and nausea for 4 hrs after, plus I found crusty facial mask stuff in my hair.
I’m not coming back because I just did not have a good experience but the ladies working there are very nice and accommodating. My friend loved it and she will be back definitely.

I love the staff. They are so friendly and pay attention to detail. Whatever service I decide to get I know it will be done well and great service.

I always had issues with waxing and decided another alternative; threading. So i asked my friends and they all told me to go to Bella Tonic. Even though threading was the most uncomfortable of all, it really worth it. They were great and quick and knew what they were doing. Loved it. I recommend it to every lady who wants to remove that unwanted facail hair.

I went in to get eyebrow threading and was in and out in less then five minutes. By all means I like efficient service but not at the compromise of quality. Customer service wise was awful — no introduction, nothing. There was little to no shaping done on my brows just cleaning up stray hairs, and afterwards they were uneven — which I pointed out so she took more off the top, which wasn’t even where it was uneven. At this point I just gave up, paid and left. No concern for shape, style or suitability to face shape. At $ 5 I shouldn’t have expected much but this place came recommended as being great for threading. Would not go back.

Threading appears to be their specialty. Occasionally I notice I have to touch up a few missed hairs with some tweezers when I get home but over all $ 5 for my brows is quite reasonable and it is rarely more than 10 minutes before I walk in. Some of the girls are better than others but I generally have a good experience with them. There is a fair amount of parking and the lady I always see at the front desk is a sweetheart. It is hard to beat the price.

I am a big fan of Bella Tonic, they are always friendly when I go in. I go for eyebrow threading, usually a different person every time so they don’t always look the same every month I go. Which is not a huge deal as long as they don’t do them too thin. It’s only $ 5 and well worth it, I had such terrible experiences with waxing so if you’re wanting to try our threading I would definitely try here first!

Let me start by saying the ONLY reason why I’m giving this place 2 stars and not 1 is because my friend had her eyebrows threaded here and they did a fabulous job. Stick to the threading guys…
I, on the other hand, came here for a brazillian. My pal recommended this place to me because their brazillians are only $ 50 and they are so good at threading that the rest of their hair removal must be legit also… right? WRONG.
I had made an appointment for 6:15. My friend and I arrived right on time. Since she was only doing her eyebrows, she didn’t need an appointment and just sat down. I waited at the front desk for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. When someone finally did come out, she wasn’t aware that she had an appointment for that evening. She checked her book and sure enough, I was there. She apologized and led me to a room at the back. She didn’t speak English very well, and so there was a bit of confusion at first but she eventually left and I undressed my bottom half and sat down to wait. When she got started, I was actually quite impressed. She took the hair off in large chunks, so I thought it would be a breeze and I would be out of there in no time. The whole thing took about 15 minutes which was a relief (I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so I just wanted to get it done and get out of there)… but in hindsight, it might have been better if she took her time.
We had a bit of awkward conversation where she asked me if I was married… and when I said no, she seemed surprised like she didn’t understand why I would be getting a brazillian if I wasn’t married… you know you’re being judged when…
Anyway. The really bad part came when she did the lower part of the bikini area… you know, the part that makes it a brazillian. She seemed a bit uncomfortable with it… like she didn’t want to really get in there and get this done, which is the opposite of every other wax I’ve ever had. Usually, they just get right in there and do the job. I could sense that she didn’t like this. And I knew as soon as I felt the hot wax that came next, that something bad was going to happen. She’d gotten wax on my labia minora. And then she ripped the fabric off.
And then I saw the blood.
She ripped skin off my labia.
Like, part of the vagina that doesn’t even grow hair.
GUYS. I AM MISSING SKIN ON MY LABIA MINORA. DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH THAT HURTS!!! I went for dinner with some friends after, but couldn’t wait to get home and investigate further. When I finally got home, I took a mirror down there to check out what was going on, and I was HORRIFIED. It looks like the left side of my vagina went through a blender. It hurts to pee. My genitals have been mutilated.
I sat in a cold bath for about 20 minutes after I got home to try and soothe it all. The actual part of my bikini area that is *supposed* to be waxed isn’t THAT bad (there was a bit of blood there too, and there is a part right in the crease where my leg meets my yoo-​hoo where she tore some skin and it’s a bit bruised). I wish I could show you guys a photo of this without being x-​rated, because it is truly unbelievable. I am so scared that I’m going to get an infection from this.
There are still a few stray hairs here and there, but most of them are blonde so I can forgive that and go over it with tweezers when the whole area cools down a bit.
Another note– she didn’t ask me to flip over and do my back-​side. This doesn’t really bother me too much, because that isn’t really a «problem» area for me. But the whole point of a brazillian is that they’re supposed to get it all… and she didn’t even ask… so that’s disappointing.
I’ve had many brazillians before, mostly at higher end salons and the estheticians are much more professional and don’t make you feel awkward about what you’re having done. And they don’t shy away from your back side. And they don’t rip off your labia.
I really wanted to love this place, but sadly, it just goes to show that you get what you pay for. I will never ever ever cheap out on a brazillian wax again. You live, you learn.

I was looking for a place that provided eyebrow threading services and I picked Bella Tonic Spa based on the reviews. I was rather disappointed when the girl spent less than 2 minutes on my eyebrows before sending me on my way. Perhaps they do it differently here in Edmonton, but at the salon I used to go to regularly in Vancouver, they’d not only thread your brows, but trim them too. Maybe it’s because I visited on a weekend, but it wasn’t the type of service I was expecting. I felt the girl merely threaded the sparse hairs and didn’t do a thorough job of shaping them. Considering I drove from downtown to try out this place, I probably wouldn’t come back.

Good eyebrow threading. Probably good facials but not sure… After my experience with my Brazilian today I think ill keep it to just eyebrows. Wax is all over me, she did huge strips and didn’t pull back the right way, causing my skin to rip. It’s red and super sore right now, I’m scared to pee actually. I’ve been getting brazillians for over ten years and this is the worst so far.

I went for brow threading two weeks before my wedding and the girl took a good chunk of skin off the owner didn’t say a word and the threader blamed me for not holding tight enough. Ive been threading for over 15 years and never been cut like this. Luckily I went to Unicutters on 34^th and Yasmeen fixed them before my wedding!
I decided to give them another shot, the next time went ok. But the time after that was horrid. She made them uneven and the owner just started blaming me for waiting too long. She literally said, «you can’t wait ‘awhile’ and expect us to fix them for $ 5». I wanted to ask her, so what happens when someone who has never threaded, comes in? You do them like this? I hadn’t even complained and she just snapped at me, very upsetting :(

I’ve been going to Bella Tonic for about 2 years now, every 3 weeks for my eyebrows. I highly recommend them.
I have tried a couple different places in Edmonton for threading, since I live on the North side and would love not to drive to Millwoods, but I have not found any that match in Price and ability. They are worth the drive.
No matter who I get, they are all quick and relatively painless (they are still pulling hair out of your skin after all). The shape of the eyebrows is also consistent from one girl to the next.
The owner is very nice and friendly, and always greets us when she is there. The girls are all very polite.
I usually go during the day on Fridays, and have not had to wait more than 10 minutes for someone to be available (often I can walk right in)
I have also had lower leg waxing last year using a Groupon — the girl was very quick and it had little pain.

Went here today for a Brazilian wax and was amazed. My first wax (at a different and more expensive salon!) took the lady almost 45 minutes and was ridiculously painful because she had to keep going over the same spot. It hurt to use the bathroom for days!
Well, the lady at Bella Tonic took maybe 10 minutes and probably only 8 or so big rips. Fast and easy. They put oil on you at the end and wet a wash clothe so that you can clean yourself up before you get dressed.
Fast, relatively painless (as much as can be expected), and very affordable! $ 50 vs the usually $ 70+.

Bella Tonic offers a great service at a great price. $ 5 and 5 minutes later I have wicked eyebrows that I don’t have to spend my time plucking (or worse at home waxing… terrible idea).
My biggest issue is that the service is really hit or miss depending on the time of day you go and who you get as your threader. I have been there at least 10 times and have yet to be introduced or learn any of the girls names. Some might be too shy to talk because English isn’t their first language, but either way there is minimal conversation. Also if you go during busy times (like any time after 5) it feels like the threading is rushed.
If you can deal without bonding with your threader and knowing you will likely not get the same girl every time you go then check Bella Tonic out. The price can’t be beat, and just so long as Millwoods isn’t too far of a drive for you then it’s worth it.
