I haven’t taken in the whole Cariwest festival yet, but I’ve been to the parade a few times now. It’s not the most punctual parade, but the costumes make the wait worthwhile. 20 foot high costumes, bright colours, dancing… probably my favourite Edmonton parade.
I recommend staking out a spot early on in the route… late starts and what seems like an extra slow parade pace means you’ll be waiting awhile near the end of the route.
