Just average. If your a big Wendy’s or burger King fan, and would like to pay a premium for those burgers, just go here.

Short on staff, but they are quick. Food tastes good for fast food, overall experience with this restaurant was very good and satisfying.

Honestly, we wanted to love it but it is a rip off… My husband and I have been there twice. The first time it was a really expensive«nothing special». Went there today to give it another try. as we had coupons. two for $ 10.99… «oh, but that’s without „tax“» which made the total almost 13.00 plus our provincial tax. making the total almost $ 14… not sure what the special tax was but sure seems like your taking advantage of customers to me! Also, both time didn’t get the order right… WOULDNOTRECOMMENDIT. spend your money elsewhere.

Best burgers in Edmonton at almost any price point. Puts the 10 $ burger places to shame. And the have the best fast food poutine I’ve ever had. And trust me. I eat out more then you and all over the place. Take it from a picky fat man! Lol And whats with all the haters? Boo hoo the breakfast was disappointing. Like any other fast food breakfast place is any better. Its about the burgers! So wake up! If you want to spend $ 10 on just a burger, and 20 $ on a combo. Go ahead. But its all a lie! Its still ground beef and fried potatoes. This is where good burgers come at a great price!

I really wanted to like Carl’s Jr. There’s been a lot of Carl-bashing on Unilocal so I thought I would give them a chance. First off, the service is totally friendly and courteous here at the 170 Street location and the place is clean. My wife and I went in for breakfast. I ordered the bacon and egg burrito. I was totally disappointed with how small and underwhelming the burrito was. It looked and tasted like something that had been a leftover in somebody’s fridge. Its texture reminded me of cardboard and it tasted like it too. Their burritos are about the same diameter as your index and middle fingers pressed together and slightly longer. Now I understand why they have to feature naked supermodels strutting their stuff to Ted Nugent songs in their commercials. The food is nothing to write home about so they have to draw attention to themselves with sensational advertising instead.

Thought this fast food place might be different then the others, boy was I wrong! Cold fries, lukewarm burger, ok service, will not go back!

Breakfast here gets a fail. After going into the restaurant, the décor and design looked modern and comfortable booth seating that has some padding and not hard. Not a lot of seating but not busy during the time we were there. I asked what was in the loaded breakfast burrito and was told eggs, variety of breakfast meats, and cheese. For $ 5, it sounded good and filling so let’s try it. I asked about tea but they don’t have any. We were given an order number to place on the table and the food would be brought out which I thought was a nice touch. So we went to the half booth, half chair seating and the booth had lots of crumbs. Ok, so it looked neat but it’s not. I swiped the crumbs on the floor which was dirty too. There were 2 TVs on SportsNet. The food came out in a few minutes and it was a disappointment. I opened the burrito and it was a mish mash of the items I was told but it also had lots of onions and they weren’t cooked so strong taste. Every bite tasted like onions and being loaded didn’t mean that it was large, it was an average size. Definitely will skip this place for breakfast. Maybe that’s why there were only a few tables occupied during our visit? Only positives were service was friendly and clean washroom.

Not sure where all the hate for Carl’s Jr. comes from. My boyfriend and I went in today and we both agreed in terms of fast food it might be one of the best options out there. The burgers are thick and flavorful and they have numerous side options including chili fries and onion rings. They also do shakes and have the most dessert options that I can recall seeing at a fast food joint. The prices are a little more expensive than say McDonald’s but I think they make up for it in quality and service. The dining room was sparkling when we visited and the staff were really nice. There was a lady cleaning tables when we were on our way out that saw me going to take our tray to the trash who insisted on grabbing it from me and dumping it out. I could not have asked for a better experience and we will definitely be returning.

Love Carl’s Jr. Best fast food in Edmonton. Always good. Always fast. Clean restaurant. Friendly staff. Just need a downtown location.

I’ll never go here. It was +33 on the weekend, they had someone outside in the Carl’s JR mascot outfit. He was slumped over, looked half dead, but still standing. I honked, and he waved, so he was still alive. It was funny, but pathetic. I googled the number to call a manager and express my concern, however the number listed on Google, as well as the Carl’s JR website was wrong. But I do see the number here on Unilocal is different. Shame on the management at this location.

Used the drive thru today. Lady could not speak or understand english very well. The burger only had a half slice of cheese on it and the meat was so cold the cheese didn’t even melt on it. The fries were soggy and even though I asked twice, there was no ketchup. The coke syrup was running out because the drink was half water. Too bad. I like Carls in the USA but I’ll never waste my money at this one again.

It was a-ok in that it can’t be the same as the ones in the US, but it really satisfied a craving without a long flight out of the country. The service was prompt and friendly. The dining room was clean, despite our visit being just after the dinner rush. I would go back again if I was in the area and hungry!

Terrible. Cold food. Using the same fries and buns as burger king but charging 20%, more for it ! Nothing like the Carl’s Jr in the US. Wish it was !

We went through the drivethru and ordered 2 burger combos, not up-sized(not sure if that’s an option). The food was given to us hot and fresh, and the orders were correct. It was $ 20 for 2 combos, so definitely on the more expensive side of fast food, but the portions were HUGE. Ridiculously so. I barely could fit the drinks in the cup holders. The burgers were really greasy and messy but tasted okay, if I didn’t know better I would assume they were Burger King. The regular fries were nothing to write home about, but the criss-cut fries were really good. Unless you want to try one of their«specialty» burgers like the jalapeño/guac or Texas burger, don’t be shocked when it tastes very familiar.

Yo U hit the nail on the head when he called the food here ‘uninspired’. I would also call it cheapskate, because the bun was terrible, no substance, and toppings were cheap iceberg lettuce thrown in with a slice of flavourless tomato. Check out the pathetic state of it in my picture! And not a cheap price! The fish sandwich was not disgusting to eat but the presentation is woeful and the taste flat. I would expect this from a lousy old joint like inner city Burger Baron, or if 7 – 11 served burgers they would be this quality, but not from a flagship store trying to establish some brand loyalty in a very competitive field. My bf liked his burger, but again, average to below average for fast food. Worth a miss. I promised I’d try it once, and that will be it for me for life!

I’m surprised to see the other reviews for Carl’s Jr. as we had an awesome experience. The Hubba Hubby and I popped in for Sunday lunch and we were impressed at every turn. The menu seemed huge, with lots of options. We both chose burgers, a jalapeño/guac something something for me and a texas something something for the Hubby. We decided to just get one combo to share, plus the extra burger, and we are glad we did. The burgers were huge — I was super surprised at the size, and also impressed with the presentation as my burger came in a box and was half wrapped(so you could pick it up and bite into it but your hands weren’t getting messy). We had purchased the poutine but took it home as we were both full after the burgers. We got the one that was with the crisscut fries. The gravy was perfect and the potato had a great flavour. It’ll be nice to try it fresh, but even reheated at home it tasted great! I like the idea where they bring out the food to you as you take a number back to your table. The restaurant was clean, including the washrooms. And there was a ton of staff on as training was happening up at the tills with some new staff. My only surprise was the size of the restaurant and the occupancy — smaller than I expected but when we went there were still options for tables, booths and high tables.

I love burgers, and will always stop to try a new one. Carl’s Jr. has a solid burger. I walked up and asked them«What’s your biggest burger?» And it’s the Angus thick burger combo, with fries and a drink it was roughly $ 12. One interesting they asked me when I wanted the combo if I wanted large or medium. Duhr? I guess that’s their way of asking if you want to supersize it. After ordering you can head to your table with a number, dairy queen style and they’ll bring you your order. I got my burger combo under 5 minutes and it was a tasty burger, and the toppings were all really fresh tasting. Fries nice and hot, and the mammoth drink could give diabetes to a trunk full of circus clowns. Seriously share the drink if you’re getting a large. The burger itself wasn’t the biggest burger/fries I’ve ever had 5 Guys is bigger. What was the chain like overall? If Wendy’s and Dairy Queen had a lesbian relationship and raised a child it would be Carl’s Jr. Worth eating here, but not worth driving out of your to come here. A solid 3 star: A-ok

When you think of Carl’s Jr: You think«Ok, let’s Youtube this». Their videos were«bold, sexy, crunchy and mind-blowing — with burgers so huge that could fill you up to the brim. With such bold advertisement about their burgers, I thought to myself«I’ve got to try it to be converted a fan». And so, off I went on an ambitious adventure into Carl’s Jr with Mitch with high hope of being welcomed by energetic mind blowing staffs. Look… Don’t even think about it. They are just your regular kind of people that work at a regular fast-food restaurants. Enough said. Service was a quick delivery of your food from the kitchen to your table and a «Would u like anything else?» and usually off they went again without the usual common courtesy of «Do enjoy your burgers». The interiors are bright and sort of maintained. Really tiny on the inside with probably less than 15 tables. We got ourselves a Thick Guacamole Bacon Ch Burger, Oreo Shake, Charboiled BBQ Chicken Burger and a Poutine. The Thick GBC Burger was HUGE. Average tasting burger but it was good enough though it got really really messy after 3 bites. My messiest experience with a burger so far and I was definitely not a fan of it. The onions were sliced thickly and it just felt messy. The Oreo Shake was good but nothing really outstanding to be honest. As for Mitchell’s burger, he commented that it tasted very tomato-ish than BBQ-ish. It was quite plain overall and he didn’t seem to enjoy his burger that much. Poutine was average. I would actually go for Ricky’s all day grill’s poutine over Carl’s tbh. All in all, food was good but it was nothing mind-blowing enough for us to be regulars or even go out of our way for it.
