Best gelato I have ever had: I have kept coming back to this place for years. The large selection of non-​dairy gelato is a real treat. All the choices taste SO good that I don’t feel like I am missing out on the dairy options.
This time, I had a triple cone for $ 7.50: lime, red grapefruit, and raspberry. All flavours were delectable but the red grapefruit was like a shining star. Truly an impressive flavour. I tried my companion’s mango and fell head over heels for the flavour. WOW. In the future, my perfect cone would probably be lemon, red grapefruit, and mango.
Thoroughly satisfied and my tastebuds were delighted — I couldn’t ask for any better.

Wow. Can you say delicious? I couldn’t wait to take a picture before digging in. We each had a triple cone at $ 7.50 each. You decide if that’s pricy or not. One cone had lime, mango, and blueberry sorbert. The other: red grapefruit, raspberry, and lime sorbert. The blueberry was my least favourite flavour and I’d probably pass on it in the future. However, the mango and red grapefruit were divine, followed closely by the lime and raspberry flavours.

Came to Cococo Chocolatiers again yesterday and always leave happy.
Sure the chocolate is priced higher than some but the quality is outstanding and it’s all made locally here or at their factory in Calgary, AB!
I opted for a double scoop of gelato on today: Roasted Hazlenut (to die for) and my favourite lemon (more of a sorbetto).
Sooooo good! Everyone in our group from work (8 people) were happy with our visit today!
And they do offer parking here and it’s just a block away from River Valley View if you’re wanting to go on a stroll while you enjoy your gelato or coffee!

Really good chocolate, coffee and gelato A great place to walk your dog, grab a coffee and chocolate then sit on the patio. It’s a bit pricey but the service a good and the treats are good quality. Really wish they had fair trade chocolate and coffee

I love the gelato here. The texture is perfect and you basically cant go wrong with any flavor in their large selection. The hot chocolate is also amazing.

This store has a great ambiance and includes a good amount of seating. I would prefer it if the hot chocolate were not so tongue burningly hot upon receiving it, but otherwise it is delicious. I don’t often buy chocolates (although I used to buy chocolates from them more frequently in the past as gifts) but it is nice to have such yummy hot chocolate especially on a cold day. The large windows are great for letting in light and there’s a decent sized parking lot available if you need it. I really like the festive décor during the holiday season as well.

There are those who ascribe to the belief that cold weather means the end of cold food, such as gelato.
To those, I say: you poor, poor souls!
Cococo became my favourite gelato spot this summer. The flavour selection is highly original — pink grapefruit is quite a standout. I prefer their gelato paired with a doppio espresso macchiato, so that I may alternate sips of espresso with tiny spoonfuls of gelato. Chocolates are enthusiastically recommended as well; sea salt-​hazelnut-​habanero is a non-​intuitive but most welcome combination.
I was most pleased to discover the new patio. Last year’s patio sucked, quite plainly. The new one has a roof, comfy tables, and a surprising amount of seclusion from the busy street.
I’m not going to dial back my gelato consumption either, now that fall is here and winter is a thought away!

I was so happy when Cococo moved into the neighbourhood, not because of the chocolate, but because of the gelato selection! I’m a sucker for ice cream, gelato and all frozen treats so I was happy to see this little gem move onto the corner of Jasper &124^th!
Every day, there are probably 20 different flavours of gelato available at Cococo, making it hard to decide which one to indulge in on a particular evening. However, the nice thing about Cococo is that they absolutely allow half scoops, and you can choose your two favourite flavours if you find yourself stuck!
On hot summer nights, I am sure to ensure that the dog’s evening walk includes the corner of Jasper &124^th in the route… because she of course needs to stop for a drink of water. I of course need to buy some gelato in exchange for her free water… :)

Just had the new salted karamel crêpe. Whipped crème and strawberry slices on a crêpe loaded with salted caramel sauce. Absolutely delicious. My only regret is opting out on the mini scoop of gelato on top. A must try.

Awesome experience! So after visiting my some family downtown I decided to try cococo chocolatiers on my way home. I felt a little bad arriving 2 minutes to 10pm but they were nice. It was my first time there and the women explained I could as many as I want and as few! Even just one chocolate. There is no price listed and she said it is priced for price and every chocolate ranges about $ 1 – 1.25. I chose three chocolates since it was so late at night and it cost me $ 3.68 with tax! I thought that was a great price since you can chose any chocolate you want! Definitely would come again and sit down for some hot chocolate or gelato!

What a gorgeous café! This lovely venue is situated right next to some of my favorite stops on 124^th St, so it’s perfect to drop in on a weekend shopping trip to high street. Café is bright and open, and everything is shiny and new. If you’re wondering where to buy Bernard Callebaut since the chocolatier a block away closed, Cococo is holding the goods. They had all the BC treats I knew and loved — with macarons for sale by their pastry chef in Calgary to boot =) I’m 124^th St has the highest macaron vendor concentration in Edmonton, just in case you were looking. Staff was super nice and friendly, and made me the most delicious mocha ever, complete with whipped cream and chocolate flakes on top. This is a really great place, I know I’ll stop by again for a latte before I go browse my favorite stores across the street!

My friend and I stopped here for gelato one day. Normally I like to try new flavours when it comes to food, but with gelato I generally stick with hazelnut gelato because it is the single greatest thing ever in the history of the universe — or I just like it is all. My friend decided to sample the apple pie gelato, and then I thought «why not» and holy moly was it good. It was good enough that I strayed from my normal hazelnut path to get a scoop of the apple pie gelato.
When we stopped in it was a bit later, after 9pm, but the two ladies who were working were friendly and happy to say hello. Then they said the single greatest thing any human being could to another, «do you want some free truffles?»
Yes. You read that right. Free chocolate truffles. And these aren’t some crappy 10 month old chocolates from the dollar store. You know, the kind that has that weird taste to it. No I’m talking Bernard Callebaut Chocolates. Bernard Callebaut Chocolates + Me = Happy. Free Bernard Callebaut Chocolates + Me = Super Happy. The chocolates were extra stock they were trying to get rid of, but so what? They tasted fantastic (no dollar store chocolate yuckiness here), and my friend and I each got like 10, which was way more generous than I had imagined they’d be. I was thinking we’d each get maybe two. More chocolates? Well if you insist.
5 Stars, A++ and 50 Gold stars all around. I’ll be back… even if I’m not guaranteed free truffles on my next visit.

This place always seems to be open, which seems to be a rare thing around 124^th street. There’s also always a few customers in here, which is a good sign.
I’ve had the gelato, and it’s pretty damn delicious. The whole front row is dairy-​free, and there’s lots of colourful flavours.
I also like to shuffle over to the Benard Callebaut section and choose a few chocolates to indulge in. I wouldn’t say it’s the best chocolate ever, but it’s pretty good.
I have also had a London Fog here, which kinda failed by tasting kinda watery, but The gelato and chocolates make up for it.

Came here with a friend after finding out Duchess wasn’t open. Tons of chocolate everywhere, yummmm. My chai latte was really good and so was my $ 3 chocolate. It’s a little pricey, but the quality is there. I was a little disappointed to find out that there were no macarons available, but c’est la vie. I think I’ll definitely be headed back here next time I need some chocolate… which is always.

Well customer service is pretty important to me, so this place FAILS big time. I went in there one Saturday afternoon and the cashier was like can I help you, so far good start. I mentioned I had never been here before so I was uncertain of the procedure. I guess this is the wrong thing to say because heres where I was treated like cockroach. What do you mean? you dont know how to order? he scowled. Well do you want 10 he asks or 20 or like 100 or 200 as he yelled at me I was just like Ill take 20. Well I never even made it to 20. The guy was such an ass, sorry that I had to pick my flavors, dont know them off by heart. I got to about 14 then I just couldnt stand this guy anymore. For the 14 it was like 30 bucks, what? if I had said yes to 200 I would need to take out a mortgage. The choclate wasnt even that good. I WILL NOT BE BACK

Given how much I love chocolate, who knew I could walk out of a store dedicated to the stuff feeling discouraged. Well that’s exactly how I felt after being bullied by the chocolate snob working the counter here. Cococo catches my eye every time I drive past it, so when I was a few stores down checking out an art display, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try.
I just wanted to try a few of their chocolates. After looking around for a few minutes a man from behind the counter asked if he could help me. So I said yes, and explained that it was my first time there, and I would like to try an assortment. To which he replies, well if you want an assortment why don’t you just pick one of these (as he points to the pre-​made packages on the counter)? When I explain that I would like to choose my own assortment, he asked me how many I wanted. I looked over to my boyfriend to see what his thoughts were and in that one moment of hesitation, the chocolate snob jumped down my throat asking me if I wanted 10, 20, 50, 200, 1000 HOW MANY DO YOU WANT? So I shrunk down, said I wanted about 20, and nervously began to point at the ones I wanted. At one point I asked how many I had left and was harshly told that I had how ever many I wanted left.
We finished up and I paid the $ 16.50 for about 18 chocolates (not too sure exactly how many I ended up getting but it was under 20). The chocolates were good (not $ 16.50 good but worth trying). To me, this is just another one of those little cafes (speciality coffees, teas, treats, gelato — which looked delicious) where everything is way over priced, and the atmosphere is not nearly as fancy as they try to make it seem. Worth trying once? Sure! Worth trying again? Hmmmm, not so sure!

Infringing on the name of a few other places. One someone else already mentioned and two; COCO chocolate which has existed for awhile. Makes me wonder. The new owners must have been travelling and decided to bring the Coco name to Canada, love off the goodwill for free!
The chocolate isnt bad. Its about the same as Purdys. A step above hersheys but I think its gone downhill since the takeover. Very expensive for what it is. Better gelato at block 1912 on Whyte Ave … much better.
Will probably get sued over the name and change yet again. What a mess. The whole scenario of the bankrupty, takeover … its shady.

I got to admit I am writing this review about Cococo Chocolaterie based on my experience with their macaron and gelato. I have not tried their chocolate yet, but I am not sure if it will worth my effort.
Okay, so I was walking down the lovely 124^st and noticed this fancy building that seems to be a café or some kind of a dessert shop. My first instinct was «I have to go in «, and so I did. But because I had enough chocolates for a day, I decided to have the one last macaron and a small tiramisu flavor gelato. Instantly I was disappointed with my gelato. I couldnot feel the chewiness of normal gelato at all nor tasted like a tiramisu with mascarpone, it was just a regular sugary ice cream. Oh and the macaron ! If the place is on the same street with the Duchess Bake Shop and sell macarons, it should at least make a decent macaron. But the so called macaron I got was so crunchy but sticky in my mouth I couldn’t even tell if this French treat was made with Italian meringue or French meringue!
If this chocolaterie can’t even make a decent side menus, I am not sure if they can perfect their chocolates. It is like going into a restaurant and tasted the worst salad at a steakhouse.

Thank goodness the Bernard Callebaut company was rescued from imploding! This location is lovely, large, comfortable, and full of beautiful things. The staff were kind and attentive and pleasant.
I have to say, the name Cococo as a rebranding of Bernard Callebaut seems either intentionally like Rococo, which seems trite and unoriginal … or unintentionally like Rococo, which seems ignorant. That’s my first, second, and third impression of the name. Regardless, they still sell some of the best chocolate out there, and it looks like a lovely place to have a coffee, baked goods, or gelato. Their A/​C was on too strongly today, however; I wouldn’t have wanted to sit at an inside table for long. They have a single serving of several chocolate mousses layered on a small bit of cake — it is heavenly and on its own makes the name change bearable.
Definitely worth a visit!

Cococo is the company that brought Alberta-​based chocolatier Bernard Callebaut out of receivership. This new café is located just a block south of the former location, and is very spacious, selling chocolates, gelato, coffee drinks, and various dessert creations. The selection of gelato is quite good, although I was disappointed they were out of chocolate.
I went for an affogato with vanilla gelato. The espresso did not totally obliterate the tasty gelato, but there was still a lot to drink when I got to the bottom of the cup! Very refreshing on a hot afternoon.
Staff were very friendly and some of the desserts looked absolutely delectable. I will be back.
