I always«have» to stop into David’s Tea when I am in Southgate Mall. I am addicted to tea. Every time I go in the store I think I will end up getting only one thing. Then I buy about 3 – 4 different teas. Today was no exception. I went in to sample some of the new teas. The girl serving the samples was very friendly and helpful. She also told me that the Gap was featuring a David’s Tea sample today as well(the Lemon Poundcake tea). I ended up buying 100g of the sample I tried(Organic Raspberry Jam). The girl at the counter was also very friendly and bubbly. I really liked her enthusiasm. I also bought a couple more teas. FYI– If you are a Gingerbread Cookie Fan, it is available for a limited time! Great customer service today!

This is by far my favorite Davids Tea location. They always have the tea in stock i am looking for and the staff are wonderful. They aren’t pushy and when I tell them to leave me alone while I look around they are very obliging. I went in yesterday and ended up walking out with 300g of tea with their current promotion(buy 2100g get one free).

Tea, glorious tea!!! I don’t know how many flavours of tea are stocked at a given time, but let me tell you, it has to be close to 100. If you go to David’s Tea, and can’t find a tea you enjoy… well I’ll just stop there because I can’t think of anything nice to say. I have never purchased the same flavour twice(yet), because I always find something new to try! Peanut Butter Cup though, may become a repeat purchase. I don’t know how they do it, but my tea tastes like peanut butter cup!!! And the seasonal Pumpkin Chai is also VERY good. Do yourself a favour… go spend 30 minutes or an afternoon in David’s tea. You won’t regret it!

I stopped here because they were giving out free tea samples. This something I often do. I’m generally a fan of the David’s Tea chain, and was surprised and happy to notice that my loyalty card had two free teas on it(one for my birthday which I honestly didn’t realize was a thing they did) and so I’ll have to return to a David’s tea location soon to use the second free one. I like the fact that the staff member explained when each of my free teas expired so that I would be more likely to take advantage of them. The downside is that the lid wasn’t fastened onto my hot tea well enough and it fell off pouring hot tea down my front while I sipped at it a few meters away from the store as I walked into the mall. I returned to get a new lid from the same staff member and she didn’t apologize or anything for the fact that the lid fell off so quickly. I was happy to have my delicious tea however(though it wasn’t as good as some of the varieties I’ve tried here before, but I wonder at whether that’s simply because I was trying a new variety or because I found it so disconcerting to have spilled a bunch of tea because the lid wasn’t attached to my cup properly. Otherwise the experience here was good. I would return again.

The best part about David’s Tea is no matter where you go in this city there is always a consistent level of quality in both the products as well as the customer service. Southgate today was no exception as I immediately got a warm greeting and inquiry as to what I needed help with today. I was a little disappointed to find out they were out of eggnog to make eggnog latte’s with but the girl helping me seemed genuinely sorry and was able to quickly recommend something for me that would be just as good. Even waiting at this store was pleasant as it is large enough to stand comfortably without having people crowding your personal space or squeezing past you to look at things on the racks. I do have locations closer to me so I don’t see myself becoming a regular here but if im in the mall again I will definitely be making a stop.

David’s teas gives me the same feeling every time I have a cup of Gyokuro, shivers of joy! … which is kind of like a pee shiver, but about half as intense. These stores have variety with more canisters than a harvested grow op! And that volume makes things fun. Before I definitely preferred tea to coffee, but was a mild tea enthusiast. Content to try something outside Redrose/Tetley only if the opportunity presented it’s self. For example, occasionally we’d have some rare stuff shipped over from China. However, the last few months I’ve engaged with the staff, browsed their website, bought a number of different teas and have had first cups of some great stuff. It’s kind of like discovering ingredients for the first time. So far have tried Gyokuro, Dragonwell, Green Mate, Kenyan Tinderate and Nepal Black. The Gyokuro is on par with some of the stuff I had in Japan. I can definitely find better Dragonwell, but it would be more expensive. I have no basis of comparison for the other three, but was happy to be introduced to them. Yay tea!

OMGYES, I adore this place. There are so many different types of tea to try and the staff are so knowledgable on all of the teas! I appreciate that you can tell them how much you want and you can sit and smell all the teas for hours. This place is a go-to for gifts(people always love them) and obviously my go-to when it comes to stocking my cupboards. I feel like this location is bigger than the West Ed one so it’s definitely a place you want to check out. I’m currently swooning over their glass teapot and I have been know to hoard tins of Earl Grey. The prices are extremely reasonable. I spent $ 30 the last time I was there and the ladies told me I would probably be able to make about 45 – 50 cups. That’s less than a $ 1 per cup and the tea is delicious! I’m always wanting to try their new teas, I just recently picked up the Glitter & Gold tea and let me tell you, it’s somehting special for sure! You defintiely don’t need sugar(although I never put any in my tea to begin with) and if the flavor isn’t enough for you take a closer look because your tea is sparkling! Seriously, how cool is that! I adore this place, and you shoudl too… tea is good for you!

I love Davids, I have roughly 8 – 9 cups of tea a day from the ‘tea center’ in my kitchen, steeped in either of my 2 lovely pots from Davids. I start my day with The Skinny mixed with Oh Canada or the Organic Green Seduction. Have Cream of Earl Grey or other black, oolong or pu erh tea during the afternoon. And end my day Forever Nuts or one of numerous other herbal teas. I live off the Cold 911 when sick and drink the hangover tea a bit more then I should ;) I am always buying small bags of the new and seasonal teas like Blueberry Jam or Salted Carmel. And this is by far my favourite Davids Tea. Why? The staff! The girls that work there are all so knowledgeable, fun, up beat and passionate about tea. They know what they are talking about and know just what to suggest. Kelly is amazing, runs a great store and I always look forward to seeing her. It is such a relief to know I’m not going to be brushed off and barely served by a bunch of apathetic hipster like in the WEM location! Keep up the good work Southgate Davids. I will be back… I have to be, I’m totally hooked!

My god is this place ever wonderful! Such a huge selection delicious teas! The sales people are also very friendly, and it seems they really enjoy their job. They will literally let you smell absolutely every tea. My favourites are Chocolate Rocket, Swampwater, Tropicalia, and Goji Pop. You can buy tins of loose tea, and these will generally last you a long while. They also carry wonderful tea accessories, teacups, teapots, mesh balls, natural sweeteners, infusers, the works. Definitely try DavidsTea, you won’t regret it!

For 23 years I’ve been anti-tea aside from iced tea. All it took was being force-fed one cup of herbal tea by a friend, then one trip to David’s Tea in Southgate and I was hooked. The store is so bright and open and the staff are so helpful and nice. You can go in and buy a hot tea, iced tea or a latte. Or you can buy tea to take home and make yourself(you’ll need an infuser or something of the sort) you can buy the tea in 50g or 100g(online you can also get 250g not sure if that’s available in store as well but wouldn’t surprise me) supposedly 50 grams makes about 25 cups(that’s what the menu says). There are fun seasonal teas, and all sorts of neat teas for the former non tea drinker. I can’t walk into the store without spending upwards of 50 bucks. Ordering online is a great option too if you can’t make it out to the store!

To tell the truth, I passed by this store many many times before bothering to check it out. I’ve been to places like Steeps that sell many unusual or rare varieties of tea and for the most part bulk tea at those kinds of places is so hideously overpriced it’s not even funny. Having this experience, as well as seeing absolutely no indication of price in the store, I assumed DavidsTea was another pretentious, overpriced shop. I changed my mind about checking the place out after trying some fabulous coconut tea at a friend’s place and not knowing where else to go to get some. I walked in there and asked one of the staff how the place works(I didn’t even know if they sold bulk tea or made tea on site — like I said, no menu or anything was visible and they did have tea-making equipment on the back counter). She explained everything. There is a book with the available tea selections and in that book the price per 50 g is listed. Tea can be bought in 50 g or 100 g sizes.(The tea-making equipment is for making samples.) There is no discount for getting a larger size, but you do get a cool re-usable tin. If you bring the tin back to be re-filled, you get $ 0.50 off of your next tea purchase. And… the best part? Aside from a few teas that are difficult to acquire or labor-intensive, the prices were very reasonable — usually around $ 6.50 /50 g. They had several coconut-y selections and I chose a black tea — it’s so good I had 4 cups that night! Everyone else in my family really liked it too.(Edit: my mom liked the tea so much that she went out and bought 5 more kinds!) I also want to make note of the disposition of the sales associate I interacted with. She was quite enthusiastic, but not overly so or fake. She seemed to enjoy her job a lot which definitely made an impression. Great customer service! Overall, I quickly fell in love with DavidsTea. I just wish they put a menu or something instructional up so broke folks like me don’t assume things and pass the place by!
