Great Indian food: actually this is the tastiest place on campus I’ve eaten at. I’m not exactly sure how the combo plates work, I just point at a few of the many delicious looking dishes they have that day and pay the $ 8.50 they charge. The owners are amazingly nice and very willing to help choose items for the combo plates, if you’re lost. The dishes are on a rotation too so you could eat here every day and get a really good variety. Usually when food is this delicious it’s too good to be «healthy». But I think this is an exception to the rule: a good place for the health conscious. For vegans looking for protein, this is probably one of the only places on campus.

This place is dangerously delicious! I go to lunch here way too often – the owner and employees are extremely nice folks, and are willing to help when choosing amongst foods that may not be as familiar. I often get the vegetarian combo dish, which is three vegetarian items served over rice for $ 7.75. The options vary each day, but include Chana masala, spinach curry, eggplant curry, and okra curry. They also have meat dishes such as butter chicken($ 8.50) and tandoori chicken. The mango laasi is also quite good, but I prefer their chai tea, which is per-made but you can fill a big 12-oz cup for $ 2. In my opinion, this is one of the best places to eat on campus in terms of variety, healthy choices(so many vegetables), and friendly employees. I cannot vouch for the baked goods such as the Jamaican patties – never tried them – but give the combo plates a try.

I think I’m in heaven. It’s hard to find decent Jamaican meat patties, or ‘meat pies’ as I usually call them, around Edmonton so I was delighted when I found the Eurasian Bistro. They have all kinds of patties, ranging from chicken to beef. I had a spicy chicken pattie and it was delicious! The best part is that they have a lot of spicy patties and samoosas. I find it hard to get good spicy food around Edmonton as well.

I stopped in HUB mall today to get a quick bite to eat. I was going to go to Motherly again to get a samosa, but I thought the Jamaican patties at Eurasian looked really good. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any veggie patties, so I was looking at what else they had. It was between the veggie roll and something that was made of spinach and feta. I decided to go for the veggie roll. I was surprised, when the man didn’t take the roll out of the glass case, but rather from a small heating oven. The roll cost $ 2.75, which was a bit expensive, considering the roll was rather small. I’m not really sure how I feel about the roll. When I bit into it, it was very dry inside. I couldn’t tell what it was made out of, and I couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be so incredible dry inside. It didn’t really taste that great – it actually tasted like almost nothing. I probably won’t be coming back here again, or at least I will avoid the«mystery» veggie roll.
