This is a cute little farmer’s market, with live music, fresh produce, and various other baked/cooked food items. I went here a couple weeks ago and bought some delicious fruit, but given the size of the market I would say it’s not a place I could count on to do my weekly groceries. That being said, it’s a lovely walk(near Mill Creek) and I enjoyed the food I bought here. I’ll definitely be back.

Very disappointing. Went today for the first time expecting something a little different. The only thing that was different was that the busker was singing Quebec folk songs, but that’s it. My experience of this market is it has the same kinds of things as Strathcona or downtown, just less. Usual veggie and meat places, ever hopeful entrepreneurs trying to hawk egregiously expensive spices and teas, but that’s about it. No French theme, almost no bread or pastries or cheese or anything ‘artisan’ or typically French. Very boring, totally nothing new, I don’t plan on returning.

I’m daring upon a review of the French Quarter Farmers Market — I fear it will become ‘trendy’ and crowded. I go almost every week, for sure every second. So far I have indulged in, and boughten, coconut rice, butter chicken, dandelion tea, ravioli, fresh lemonade, desserts, giant loaves of fresh bread and much more. Its a definite ’boutique’ market, something straight out of an independent indie film. My son loves coming with me after he plays at the park across the street. I indulge his every whim, as I do my own. We munch of food truck goodies, purchase a few groceries, listen to some live music and then cap it all of by buying a few sugary treats for the walk/drive home. I would love to recommend this place but… if it becomes TOO crowded and trendy I will have to cease my biweekly ritual with my son. Oh! The café on the lower patio has some good drinks while you listen to live music. Once there was a clown doing balloon animals and my son lapped that up like it was a Birthday party.

This is one of the newer Farmers Markets in town. It just started this summer and is off to a great start. They plan to close for the winter months this year and will be re-opening in March I believe. La Cité francophone d’Edmonton is a great venue for this français spin on the Farmers Market. Most if not all of the vendors can speak to you in french or english. On the first day of the market, the SO and I took a cooking class from«Food You Can Cook» owner and Chef Elaine. She does one class in english and one class in french each weekend. The price is cheap and it is good fun. If you want to check out a new and original Farmers Market in Edmonton come by this one. Enjoy the market, La Cité, and the neighbourhood.

This is our FAVORITE farmers market in Edmonton so far! We consider it more of a «boutique» market and have discovered some wonderful local businesses with amazing products. It is a very trendy and happening environment, and is the type of place you go to not just grab a few things, but spend the whole day there. They have great vendors, fresh food to nosh on, and a stage with musicians playing. It is a fantastic setting for singles and families alike and we look forward to spending part of our Sundays here!

Edmonton’s Sunday Farmers Market. The French Quarter Farmers Market is on Rue Marianne Gaboury in La Cité Francophone, across from the Campus Saint Jean(87 st/87ave). Such a beautiful location! We were there on a sunny day and enjoyed nibbling on our purchases, sitting under patio umbrellas while listening to great local bands. This market is both outdoors and indoors(some vendors inside La Cité Francophone). A nice variety of fresh produce(some organic), freshly baked goods(love love love Passion Sucré), locally raised meats, artisan cheeses, handmade handicrafts, etc. and there are some food trucks too. It is a nice little market that offers a lot! I will definitely return over and over, if only to buy Passion Sucré’s pastries!
